Back to the canned beans convo (see previous post if you missed it).

Canned foods can be a great, budget friendly, convenient, long shelf life item to keep around. See the last slide for some of my canned pantry staples. This isn’t about fearing the can. This is just sharing info that I was surprised to learn and found helpful because it may help you too!

Of course, fresh, organic, homegrown, regenerative grown, and all that is even better. I’m showing a convenience option that also happens to be very budget friendly. We don’t live in extremes in this here corner of the interwebs. Fear is toxic. Extremism is toxic. We are A Little Less Toxic around here.

🎶Beans, beans, the magical fruit, the more ya eat the more ya… 🤔

Stope the madness!! Those t***s are an INDICATOR. While *some* gas may be sorta normal, it’s often a sign your body isn’t digesting things as well as it could be. Some genetics and some guts have a harder time with some foods than others do. Sometimes it’s that the gut needs healing. Sometimes it’s that the food isn’t being grown or prepared in ways that make them the most digestible and beneficial. Sometimes it both.

🌱PSA: Beans are seeds. And like all seeds, they were designed to survive until the conditions are right for new life to grow. To do that, they contain protective compounds that help keep them dormant and safeguard their nutrients. Traditionally, many cultures soaked, fermented, or sprouted beans before eating them. These simple preparation methods help signal to the seed that it’s time to grow, reducing some of its protective compounds and making its nutrients more available. That’s why I treat beans like the seeds they are. A little planning and preparation helps make them gentler on my body and allows me to get more of the nourishment they were designed to provide.

Making beans at home has been a very simple way we get the benefits of the nutrients from beans while being gentler on our guts, reducing the toxins like plastic/polymer lining getting into our food and bodies, and saving money!

I’m not advocating for fearing the can. We have some canned items on hand for times of need and also because they make great emergency food prep. I just didn’t know this info and once I realized, I made some simple and sustainable changes that have benefited us. I thought you may want to know this info too 🙏🏼

Hooray for deals! Double hooray that I get to participate this year with my own goods!

Special note for the ALLT merch: I can’t figure out how to make the website automatically show the free tumbler promo 😅 but if your order is $200+, I’ll personally make sure a tumbler gets added to your package, while supplies last 🤍

These are the best I’ve found so far. I’ll add more to this list IF I deem them worthy of your time.

Comment DEALS and the robot I assigned will slide up into your DMs with the links and codes 🤖 💋

I searched my camera roll for “flags” and saw Michael and couldn’t resist. Yes, I have clips of Michael Scott in my phone. Like you’d expect any less from me.

We’ve normalized feeling exhausted, inflamed, overstimulated, disconnected, anxious, numb, tired overprescribed, and chronically unwell for so long that many of us have stopped recognizing the signals our bodies were trying to give us all along.

Your body was designed to communicate with you.

Sometimes healing looks like learning to notice again. 🤍

Simple. Sustainable. Stewardship.

Due to the massive amount of response I received on how helpful this was, I made it a little post to live here to encourage us all and we continue to make our homes and lives

When Damien got home from work yesterday, I showed him the shenanigans of the day that ended up on the interwebs. No sooner than when I put my phone down did we hear the same sounds. We thought it was my phone. It was NOT. The critters returned in broad daylight in God’s grace to help me prove that, once again, I know my critters. It was NOT mating raccoons like many of you pervs declared. It WAS a juvenile raccoon in distress and I could have been a hero. Or attacked by rabbit raccoons in the night. We’ll never know.
