Following the Mulf Pack on their racing journeys

After winning her soccer tournament over the weekend, we immediately left the fields and went to the track! Macy has been practicing with a free left rear tire....and even took some laps with a blue restrictor plate π«’ There is a big jump in speed and need for more control when switching from a red to blue plate and needless to say, she loved the speed and handled the car pretty well! π She still needs to prove she can pass cars in order to move into the blue rookie class, but now that she has a taste of the speed, she has the motivation to try and move up!

What. A. Weekend! π₯΅ We were so grateful the club agreed to an earlier start time each day so we could escape the heat earlier. π Thank you TKQMA!
On Saturday, Madsen had an early soccer game (and scored a goal!!) so he didn't get to practice before his heat, but he had a special guest come watch- his teacher and her grandson!! It was their first time watching quarter midget racing and it was so fun she came to watch.π₯° He finished 3rd in his heat then finished 2nd place in his feature! Macy was in the other heat race and started out p2, got passed and finished 3rd, then finished 4th in her feature!
On Sunday, the Jerry Renchler Memorial Race, we got to hear from Jerry's family. It was really cool that his family came from Texas to be here for this race! A couple of his family members got to wave the green flags for two different races at the track. Everyone was provided some INCREDIBLE trophies for their finishes in their races - so awesome!
Macy and Madsen were in separate heats again. Madsen started p2 in his heat, but before they all made it out on the track, the car in p1 had to scratch so that put Mads in p1. He got passed by two pretty quick cars and finished p3 in his heat. In Macy's heat, she started p2, got the lead on the start, then got passed and finished p4. In Madsen's feature race, he finished 4th. In Macy's feature race, she led laps early before getting spun and went to the back, made her way back to p3, spun again trying to make a pass, went to the back, and finished 6th.
Overall, race weekends are chaotic and exciting and nerve-wracking (and hot AF lately!!!!). We are constantly learning and still don't know how to get our cars running to their max potential. Props to dad for all his effort on the cars - we keep grinding! ππ

Happy 11th Birthday Macy!! Macy will be back in action September 5th and 6th, and will likely have our first brand new motor under the hood! She's been extremely fast running an old motor, so we can't wait to see what she does with a little more horsepower!! Exciting times ahead for MFR!!
ππ Happy Birthday, Macy! ππ

Macy and Madsen were both supposed to race yesterday, but unfortunately we found some issues with Macy's motor after her unusually slow practice session. Dad sped home to find parts to see what he could fix, which meant mom had to focus on prepping Madsen's car - Pop Pops and I changed our first right rear tire! π Despite the effort, we had to scratch Macy from her race and she was so bummed (as was dad as he prepped her car all night)! She was supposed to start P1 while Madsen was P4 in the same heat. So that meant Madsen got to start P3 and finished 2nd, and then he started and finished 2nd in his feature! We are really proud of him, but equally disappointed to learn that Macy basically needs a new motor π©π²βοΈπAnd Delaney, that girl has created some really fun friendships with the girl drivers her age, so she has a blast running around with them and spending all our money on concessions! We always have a good time at the track regardless of the outcomes, even when we are sweating our tails off! π€ͺ
