Celebrate by becoming a Garden Keeper. Garden Keepers help maintain the many beds and landscapes throughout our park system. The program is spread through all of our parks with different styles of bed maintenance. You may see a Garden Keeper maintaining the moss near The Manor House, pulling weeds at Fallen Timbers Visitor Center, or maintaining the planters at Brookwood. The assistance given to Park Services Staff by adopting a garden and performing the physical work necessary to maintain garden beds is helpful and appreciated. Stop and say hello the next time you see volunteers in the garden beds.

With the tragic events of Saturday night and our four-day Watershed Weekend just a few days away, we want you to know that safety is our priority.
We have been working with the Toledo Police Department, the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office, our own internal police force, and private security to ensure public safety at Glass City Riverwalk events. Our security plan for the upcoming weekend is the most extensive yet.
What happened Saturday in the Old West End has shaken and saddened our community, but it is not a reflection of the city as a whole.
Glass City Riverwalk is uniting us while bringing new energy to the banks of the Maumee River. It is another example of the principle “Good use drives out bad use” that we experience every day in the Metroparks.
