🦋 Monarch & Mindfulness Wednesday at Urban Wholistics! 🦋

Today our Youth Farmers are learning about one of nature’s most important pollinators…the Monarch Butterfly!

Youth will:
🌱 Explore the monarch life cycle
🐛 Learn about milkweed and pollinator habitats
🦋 Discover how butterflies support our food system
🌼 Help create spaces that welcome pollinators to our community
🧘🏾‍♀️ Participate in mindfulness activities that encourage focus, gratitude, and emotional wellness

By teaching youth to care for pollinators, we’re teaching them to care for the future of our food, environment, and neighborhoods.

With the heat in the forecast, we will keep our youth safe and comfortable with indoor cooling opportunities, water activities, games, and learning. Outdoor time will be limited, with scheduled hydration breaks and cooling periods throughout the day.

Today is Monarch & Mindfulness Day🦋 We will explore our monarch butterfly waystation, learn about pollinators, practicing mindfulness, and enjoying nature together.

Please come prepared:

Our summer youth programs officially begin this Wednesday, but first we're opening our doors to families!

Join us tomorrow from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM to tour the farm, meet our team, explore our new ADA improvements, learn about our youth opportunities, ask questions, and complete registration.

We are incredibly grateful to ServeOhio for providing a Service Learning Grant that made it possible to construct a new ADA-accessible ramp at Urban Wholistics in partnership with the City of Toledo.

This project is an important step in preparing for our upcoming AgriBility Program, launching Summer 2026, where youth of all abilities will have the opportunity to experience farming, wellness, and hands-on learning in an inclusive environment.

A special thank you to our farmer partners contractors & architect who completed the project. Their craftsmanship, dedication, and attention to accessibility have helped create a welcoming space where everyone can participate, learn, and thrive.

At Urban Wholistics, we believe that farming, nature, education, and wellness should be accessible to everyone. This ramp is more than a structure. It is a symbol of belonging, inclusion, and our commitment to ensuring that all youth and families can enjoy the Urban Wholistics.
