Get Fit! Be Strong! Feel Better! Tenacity Performance Training is dedicated to helping its clients to get fit, be strong, and feel better!
We strive to empower our clients to enjoy physically active lives through the implementation of functional and integrative exercise programs based on proven scientific principles.
Back in February 2021, I ruptured my right patellar tendon while running sprints with my daughter’s softball team during practice. I was 45 years old. I lost my ability to work for over 2 weeks (should’ve taken more time off). I had to rely on others to help me do basic tasks for the first time in my life. I lost my identity as a coach because I literally couldn’t show my clients how to do an exercise.
After 5 years of struggling through rehab, struggling through getting back what I had lost physically and mentally, addressing several health issues, I’m finally clawing my way to a level of strength and power I’ve never had before. At 51 years of age, to paraphrase Dylan Thomas’ poem, I’ve refused to go gently into that good night. I continue to rage, rage against the dying of the light.
If you’ve struggled with getting back what you’ve lost or you’re finally fed up with letting life’s struggles keep you from realizing your potential, don’t quit, don’t stop, put one foot in front of the other and keep going. 💪🏽

Many people still believe that lifting weights (i.e. strength training) is only for younger folks. Actually, older adults would also benefit greatly from consistent strength training.
According to an article published and reviewed in Harvard Health Publishing in February 2026, adults can lose 4-6 lbs of muscle per decade beginning as early as 35 years of age. Older adults who are experiencing moderate to severe muscle loss are at 1.5-4.6 times higher risk at becoming physically disabled after suffering an illness or injury. Having weak muscles also make balancing during everyday movements more challenging, increasing the risk of a debilitating fall.
Roger realized this over 10 years ago when he first came to Tenacity and he’s still going strong (Geez! Look at those arms 👀 💪🏽!), training with us 2x/week.

To all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice so that the United States of America may remain free, I thank you, my children thank you, and the generations of my family who will come after me thank you.

Do you ever smile and laugh during a workout? If not, that doesn’t sound like you’re having fun.
At Tenacity, we believe in working hard, achieving goals, and enjoying the process everyday. If it isn’t fun, then why do it?

Meet Coach Breanna Cerrentano - Fitness & Sports Performance Coach at Tenacity Performance Training.
Coach Bre started out her journey by being an athlete herself. She played travel softball to which she went on to play college softball at University of Dubuque. She then transferred to Saint Xavier University to continue her education. During this time, she was able to intern at St. Laurence High School in Burbank, IL where she was able to experience their Strength & Conditioning and Mental Performance programs. She was able to explore both areas of interest to her and learn the before, during, and the after of exercise and sports performance. Coach Bre plans to take these experiences and expand on them, building up her knowledge and creating new experiences for herself and especially for her clients.
Coach Bre received her B.S. in Sport and Exercise Science as well as her B.S. in Psychology from Saint Xavier University in 2025. She is certified as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). Currently she is working to become a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) through the National Academy of Sport Medicine (NASM). Coach Bre will be continuing her education at Springfield College through its online M.Ed in Sport and Exercise Psychology program.
Coach Bre has continued to find ways to stay active whether it be working out, taking walks, reading, or coaching travel softball.
Sometimes you get to the gym and you just know that the great workout you had planned to do just isn’t gonna happen. Instead of packing up your gear and heading back home, do some mobility work, foam rolling, and stretching. Something is better than nothing and your body will feel better afterwards. I certainly feel much better than I did when I first walked into the gym.
I’ve got a busy morning ahead of me with meetings, but my goal to give it another shot this afternoon 🤞🏽💪🏽. Have and make it a great day!
