Morning Friends! I'm currently in the process of building mission teams for the 2027 Nativity Missions Global Mission Season and would personally like to invite you to consider traveling alongside me. You do not have to be a member of Church of the Nativity to travel or even Catholic.

I have been traveling and leading global mission teams since 2018 and even though every journey has been different, the soul stirring, heart expanding impact has been the same. Having an opportunity to spend time with our global neighbors has humbled me, stretched me and educated me. My worldview has shifted and I understand better a life built on hope, faith and trust.

Good Morning Nativity Volunteers!

Our next community dinner at Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church will be Thursday, October 8th from 3:30-7:30pm.l

For October's dinner we will be serving CHILI. I have created a new form for you to sign up to serve linked below. We will be making a chili recipe and you can find that recipe linked below. In addition to food servers and cooks, I will need volunteers to assist with the children's activity station and produce distribution. We also need help with cleanup.

Finally, I will be out of town on October 8th, so I need a day of leadership to ensure everything gets to St. Joe's and the serving opportunity runs smoothly. Jen Desi will be there as well to assist, lead and guide. I will ensure you have the volunteer roster for the evening as well as the station assignments. I'll be chaperoning an overnight field trip for my son Logan, and my attention needs to be there.

We need some more volunteers to assist our local partner The Baltimore Station for their Camp Puh'tok Fall Retreat for the men. Volunteers are needed to serve dinner at Camp Puh'tok on Tuesday 9/29 and Wednesday 9/30. This is truly a unique and rewarding experience to connect with the men outside of the station. These dinners will replace our monthly dinner serving opportunity for September.

Last night, Catholic Charities officially launched our Emerging Leaders Council – a group of young professionals passionate about our mission and eager to deepen their involvement in our work.

We’re thrilled to welcome this next generation of advocates, who will help share the story of our impact and bring greater awareness of the needs of our neighbors to new audiences across Maryland.

A special thank you to our inaugural co-chairs, Alexa Junikiewicz and Braeden Boyle, and to the remarkable men and women who make up our founding cohort. Over the next two years, they’ll experience our work firsthand, share what they learn with others and invest their time, energy and hearts in advancing our mission.

We’re so grateful to have them with us — and we can’t wait to see the impact they’ll make!

The Archdiocese of Baltimore is expanding their Grief Ministry by partnering with Catholic Charities of Baltimore Safe Streets Baltimore in the Cherry Hill, Penn North, Brooklyn Park, and Sandtown-Winchester neighborhoods to support their program and the families they serve. The families in these communities are living amid violence and are often challenged by meeting their survival needs such as groceries and infant supplies.

The Archdiocese has established a food pantry in southwest Baltimore at the Holy Family Catholic Workers storefront in Westside Shopping Center (2413 Frederick Avenue, Baltimore 21223) to provide care packages for families identified by the Safe Streets workers. We need volunteers to shop for perishable food items and deliver them to the Holy Family food pantry on Thursday mornings. If available, please sign up via the Sign Up Genius link below.
