We believe in togetherness. And laughter. And that anybody, yes anybody, can learn to sew. Summer camps for kids starting June 4!

Our classes start from the very beginning - no sewing experience necessary - and provide all the supplies you need.

I’m letting go of my trusty old vintage sewing table. If you or your child are in the Fort Collins area, let me know if you would like a free, old but sturdy sewing table!

Hi Mommas,

As the school year winds down (finally!), and before all of our stay-at-home orders are lifted, would any of your people be interested in a virtual sewing class? I’m thinking about doing a week-long class in which you would pick up a bag containing all of the supplies necessary for a sewing project. Then, I would send you 5 mini sewing lesson videos for your little to follow along with, since coordinating multiple zoom lesson times might get tricky. I would also be available for a facetime check-in. Does this sound like something your kids might enjoy? I welcome your input!

The MasksNOW coalition 03/28/2020

Hi everyone! America’s largest mask-coordination effort has released one standardized mask pattern, in coordination with the CDC. Let me know if you need any mask supplies! I now have elastic, thanks to a donation by a generous friend!

The MasksNOW coalition is an initiative bringing together makers to solve the PPE shortage for hospitals, healthcare facilities, and first responders by creating home made masks and linking sewests in local organizations.

A Sewing Army, Making Masks for America With overrun hospitals facing an acute shortage of masks, people are pulling out their sewing machines to fill the void.

Hi, friends! I've heard that MCR is calling for fabric masks, and I think many other local hospitals will soon approve these, too. Would you and your little (or biggish) people be interesting in joining me (online) in sewing some masks?

These would be SUPER simple to sew for your tweens/teens, for adults, or for littles with some adult assistance.

If so, would you mind reading my comments for a series of questions? Comment below the option that best describes you.

Local mommas - would it be helpful if I posted some videos for your kids to sew along with at home? I’m thinking simple hand sewing projects for littles, and sew-along machine projects for teens (all free, of course)?

Let me know if this would be something your kids would like to do while we’re all stuck at home!

It’s cold and snowy here, so I tend to create in my down time. Here’s a dress I made for my niece out of double gauze.

What are you and yours creating lately?

It’a been far too quiet on this page lately! How are you sewists? Any particular class wishes for the coming months?

This sewist’s mission makes me happy:

My oldest daughter hasn’t embroidered in a while, and wanted to make an embroidered wall hanging for her baby cousin.

This is her first major embroidery project in years, and I’m impressed by her initial efforts at backstitching (it’s hidden under the satin stitching now) and satin stitching. Her project is only halfway done. I’ll post more as it progresses.

Have you ever embroidered? Would you like to learn how?

Embroidery is MUCH easier than it looks, and the results are stunning!

Every day of sewing camp is our favorite, but there’s something about day three that’s simply magical.

Everyone has learned enough basic skills to know what they want to make AND how to make it. Each student ends up gathering their supplies and getting in the zone for a while as they create just what they’ve imagined. There’s music in the background, and students are quick to jump in and help each other tie off a string or thread a needle or find a button if I’m busy.

These little makers amaze us every time.
