Please remember to check your exhaust vents for your furnace or water heater. With the upcoming snow storm, snow can drift against the house and cover the vents leading to carbon monoxide poisoning.

We are faced with a new 2020 hurdle and I wanted to reach out as a firefighter and friend.

Please do not drive up to “see” what is going on at the Cameron Peak Fire. There are hundreds of firefighters working this fire and do not need traffic to impede their safety.

Please close your windows and stay home if possible to avoid the smoke. Close all AC Intakes and do not run your HVAC systems if not needed. Turn off all Humidifier systems as the moisture will attract debris and clog filters and drain lines. In the next few days, replace your air filters to help limit the smell and dust inside.

Remember we are in a water restriction so shut off your yard sprinkler systems. And do not forget we are in a freeze warning so please disconnect your hoses from your exterior spigots.

Pray for the men and women from around the country and from our own community that have sacrificed so much to protect our community. Be nice to each other and don’t let commercials or advertising sway your moral compass.

18 years ago today the world of emergency service was forever changed. We will never forget those that lost their lives that day. There selfless acts has positively changed many aspects of Emergency Services. We have learned from the sacrifice of so many. We are better because of them. Never forget!
