The two sessions of the 2026 Ranger Institute are now complete, and they were truly memorable experiences. Notably, history was made with our second session being hosted in Delaware, marking the first time an Institute was held outside of North Carolina in the 47-year history of the PRI. In my view, these were the best two Institutes we've ever conducted.
Highlights:
•Locations: Both new locations were exceptional.
•Classes: We introduced more new classes than ever before.
•Off-Site Trips: There were some fantastic off-site excursions.
Please keep an eye on our page and website for next year’s dates and other important updates to be announced. As I always say, your word of mouth is our most powerful advertisement. Please continue to spread the word about the PRI to other agencies in your area. Although attendance was lower for each session, we welcomed new agencies and saw familiar faces return after some time away.
We have launched a new online overall evaluation for these two sessions. We encourage everyone to complete the evaluation to share what you liked, what you didn’t, and what you would like to see in the future. Please send any new class suggestions to me at [email protected] by June 10th so we can discuss them at our next board meeting.
Finally, remember that the PRI is a unified group of diverse individuals united by a common goal: “Protecting natural resources and Park visitors” As always, take care and stay safe.
