In partnership with the Person County Animal Shelter, we now have a microchip station at the station! It’s located in the grassy area near the large gravel lot.

This picture was taken in Granville County at a fatal house fire earlier this year. The photo was taken by Special Agent Robert Mclaughlin (Banzai) of the NC Department of Insurance/OSFM fire investigation unit. The image shows SBI arson agents working alongside OSFM sworn investigators, sifting through fire debris to locate evidence and the source of a fire.

The photo was entered into a photo contest at this week’s North Carolina/South Carolina chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators Conference in Myrtle Beach, SC. The picture took home first place in the highly competitive “teamwork” category, a fantastic recognition of collaboration and dedication among agencies.

Congrats to Robert Mclaughlin for capturing such a fantastic picture of collaboration. The SBI values our partnerships with all agencies around the state.

The next generation of TFD members participated in our training last night! A few of our members brought in their little ones to help us with some hands on pediatric vitals training! And they had fun playing together afterward!

INCREASED FIRE DANGER IN EFFECT WEDNESDAY MORNING THROUGH EARLY WEDNESDAY EVENING
Instruction: The combination of westerly winds gusting to 20-25 mph, with infrequent gusts to 30 mph, relative humidity levels between 25 and 30 percent, and prolonged dryness, an increased fire danger statement is now in effect for all of central NC on Wednesday from 11 am to 7 pm. Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged.
