5 years already?!

Huge shoutout to Sean for hitting his 5-year anniversary with us! As our Senior Survey Crew Chief, he’s the guy who keeps things steady out in the field and brings a ton of experience, reliability, and good humor to the team every day.

When he’s not out there getting the job done, you can bet he’s spending time with his favorite crew: his grandkids! Thanks for everything you do, Sean. We’re lucky to have you out there representing us. Cheers to 5 years and many more to come!

This month, we’re proud to support David Weekley Homes CARE Build Month by participating in a Bedding Donation Drive benefiting Portland-area children receiving beds built by the David Weekley Homes team during their CARE volunteer build day.

We’re helping collect NEW twin-sized bedding items that can be dropped off at any David Weekley Homesmodel home or office. Together, these donations will help create safer, more comfortable spaces for local children and families.

Apparently when you are the entire social media department, you eventually run into a problem: if you skip your own work anniversary post, it looks suspicious. So here we are.

April marks four years for me (Brea Ariola) as HR Coordinator at Pacific Community Design.

Four years is a funny milestone. It’s long enough to see a lot of projects, people, and ideas grow, but still short enough that it somehow feels like it went by in about five minutes.

In that time I’ve had the privilege of working with an incredible team, supporting the people who make this place run, and helping build the culture that makes PCD what it is. HR gets a front-row seat to the talent, dedication, and character of the people here, and I’m grateful to be part of it.

Also, if this post feels a little like the way moms hang up their own stocking so the mantel doesn’t look weird in pictures… that’s probably not far off.

Grateful for four great years and looking forward to what’s ahead.

Honestly, sometimes we wonder if she has a secret superpower for solving complex design challenges.

Happy Administrative Professionals Day!

Today we’re celebrating the people who keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes; the organizers, problem-solvers, and steady hands that make a difference every single day.

At PCD, we’re especially grateful for Dawn, who has been part of our team since 2014. Her attention to detail, thoughtfulness, and ability to keep things on track have supported our team in more ways than we can count.

As this is her final year with us, we’re feeling extra thankful for all she’s contributed over the years. Dawn, we appreciate you and everything you’ve done to make PCD better.

Side note: it's also National Jelly Bean Day, which if fitting, since Dawn has kept us well supplied with Jelly Beans on her desk for years!

No jokes here! Maureen is celebrating 7 amazing years at Pacific Community Design!

While it may be April Fools’ Day, there’s nothing funny about the impact Maureen has made as a Project Manager in our Planning group. For seven years, she’s been the real deal; leading projects with clarity, keeping teams aligned, and turning complex challenges into thoughtful, community-focused solutions.

Seven years of dedication, leadership, and making planning and project management look easy (even when it’s not!) We’re lucky, just like the number 7, to have her on the PCD team.

14 YEARS.

Do you know what else takes about 14 years? A rough-cut diamond can take over a decade to go from deep in the earth to fully cut, polished, inspected, and ready to shine.

And honestly… that feels fitting.

For 14 years, our construction inspector Jeff has:
- Caught the details others miss
- Measured twice (and sometimes three times)
- Held the line on standards

Like a diamond, it’s about precision. It’s about clarity. It’s about holding things to a higher standard. While others see the finished project, Jeff sees the layers underneath the things that actually make it last.

Fourteen years of protecting quality. Fourteen years of doing it right the first time. Fourteen years of making sure what we build today still stands tomorrow.

That’s not flashy. That’s foundational.

Happy 14-Year Anniversary Jeff! We’re grateful for your sharp eye and steady presence.

Fun Fact: It can take up to 13 years for an oak tree to mature enough to start producing acorns!

Thirteen years of steady roots. Quiet growth you don't always see. Weathering storms. Getting stronger season after season.

Then one day you look around and realize WOW! That tree is solid. Dependable. It's part of the landscape.
