“EQUIP OUR KITCHEN” CAMPAIGN A HUGE SUCCESS

As March came to a close, we wrapped up our “Equip our Kitchen” Campaign through the Amazon registry. Check out this photo of the items donated in recent weeks that will serve to complete our commercial kitchen at the Emergency Shelter in Texas City.

This space is designed to provide approximately 3,000 meals a day to both shelter residents and the community-at-large.

LOOK WHAT GOD HAS DONE !!!!

Almost five years after construction began, the “Emergency Shelter & Operations Center” in Texas City observed its official “Ribbon Cutting Ceremony” on Tuesday, March 31st. We were blessed to have Donors, Supporters, Churches, Politicians, Businesses, the Chamber of Commerce and Volunteers all in attendance.

This repurposed facility on the campus of New Life Fellowship Church will serve as emergency housing for our neighbors who are displaced by a local natural or man-made disaster. Food security for residents and the community-at-large will be provided through its onsite commercial kitchen with a capacity of approximately 3,000 meals a day.

FIVE YEARS IN THE MAKING
Come celebrate with us the official "Ribbon Cutting Ceremony" for the 4B DRN's EMERGENCY SHELTER & OPERATIONS CENTER in Texas City. We will gather at 3pm, have a short speech or two, cut the ribbon and provide guided tours through the facility. Light refreshments will be served.

This unique facility will provide safe, secure and sanitary emergency housing for our neighbors in the 4B Area who have been displaced due to a natural or man-made disaster. The commercial kitchen can provide approximately 3,000 meals a day to shelter residents and the community at large.

A DREAM REALIZED!!!!

When the Lord provided our facility in Texas City on the campus of New Life Fellowship in 2021, it was always a dream to be able to house "mission groups" who would come to the 4B Area to minister to our neighbors. Check out the photo of this group of High School Seniors and Sponsors from University Christian School in Jacksonville, FL.
As part of their annual Senior Trip, they choose a ministry to serve with and they are the FIRST OF MANY groups who will make use of our facility as a launching pad to serve in the 4B Area. In fact, a group of students from Texas A&M are headed our way tomorrow and will work with us through Monday.

This is how the Body of Christ operates to see families, churches and communities restored...

Five years.....$900,000+.....hundreds of Volunteers......thousands of Man/Woman Hours

The 4B Disaster Response Network's "Emergency Shelter & Operations Center" on the campus of New Life Fellowship Church in Texas City is now
OFFICIALLY OPEN

With our Occupancy Permit from the city of Texas City and the Health District's Kitchen Inspection Passed, we are now in position to house those who have been displaced by a local disaster. We have the capacity to house about 80 people in beds with another 40 blow up mattresses at our disposal. There are 17 showers on the property as well as Laundry facilities. Our Commercial Kitchen has the capacity to produce approximately 3,000 meals per day and we have a stand-alone apartment that will sleep 8 family members.

Whether it is a natural or man-made disaster, residents of the 4B Area who have been displaced and need a safe, secure and sanitary place to temporarily get their bearings and make a plan for their future will be welcomed. There is NO COST for those seeking temporary housing and food security. Thousands of individuals who have prayed, donated and volunteered along with our Church Partners and Strategic Partners have made this Emergency Shelter a reality.
