118 years ago today, at 10:35 am, Orville Wright became the world's first pilot. After Wilbur's failed attempt on December 14th, the Wrights fixed the forward elevator and were ready to try again. It was Orville's turn. The day was cold and windier than they would have liked, but they proceeded. They had promised their family that they would be home by Christmas.
So, with the help of the lifesaving guards and other locals, the Wrights prepared the Flyer for take off. It glided down the rail as Wilbur steadied the wing tip and soared up into the air for 12 seconds and 120 feet of controlled, powered flight. They flew three more times that day before the Flyer was too badly damaged to continue. Wilbur achieved a 59 second, 852 foot flight.
Man had finally taken to the sky, and the two boys from Dayton headed back home to celebrate and continue their work.

We have a potential leaseback of a Piper Turbo Arrow. No details have been worked out yet, and the owner(s) still needs to be sure it works on their end, but we are working on that potential on our end. So...
Who would be interested in access to an aircraft like this? Please send me an email (terrellflyingclub[at]gmail[dot]com) with your interest and contact information. We'll be working on numbers to see if this would work for both the club and owner. I'll send you back a pilot form, supplied by the insurance company to determine a ballpark premium. If you have any questions, please feel free to email or call me at (469) 737-0053.
Thanks!
