Still thinking about the BEYNO font used in the "Black Panther" movie ... here is what Fabian Korn, the font designer, said: "We do not need a Helvetica 8.0. In the end, it’s about finding a middle ground between progress and respect for the values of classic typography."

My latest logo design - created for the River City Art Association in Terre Haute, Indiana. RCAA is an art association that supports artists and visual arts in the Wabash Valley. The updated mark incorporates elements that represent a partial Terre Haute skyline, a winding Wabash river (which is so much a part of this Wabash Valley), and the green elements that represent the beautiful green spaces in our city. The contemporary font is clean and easy to read. I'm proud to be a part of this group (currently president) and am equally proud that they allowed me to redesign their logo. I am honored.

D.B. Dowd, who has been critical of the graphic design industry’s over-reliance on digital illustration tools like Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop, argues that drawing isn’t necessarily anti-tech: “I have no beef with technology per se—after all, pencil and paper is a technology. But drawing offers simplicity and directness compared to other information gathering procedures.” I agree ... I believe most designers/illustrators benefit from "sketching" their initial thumbnail concepts vs. immediately jumping on the computer.
Drawing Is the Best Way to Learn, Even if You’re No Leonardo da Vinci - Quartz - Pocket Drawing shouldn’t be about performance, but about process. It is a way of taking in the world.
