Throughout the summer, we will be highlighting some of our AHP alumni and their careers post graduation! Today, we have Sarah Gross!

Hi I’m Sarah Gross! I was in AHP from 2021-2024, I graduated in 2024 with aviation management and criminal justice. I went straight from college to the FAA for a year in the airports Great Lakes office where I worked along side the director of airports and was a program analyst. Then went to Gary/Chicago International Airport where I now do Operations and ARFF. A piece of advice I have is to now follow the crowd and don’t be afraid to move across the country or to a new town as it was the best decision of my life to not stay in Indiana at first. You get the most experiences when you branch out and do something you might be afraid of. My favorite part of my job is hosting the Chicago Air and Water show and the Gary Airshow every year. I also like partaking in our bi yearly practice training with ORD ARFF team. It’s so much fun to do something I never thought I’d ever be apart of in my career. You have one life so try to experience as much as you can!

Today, we got to tour Columbus Municipal Airport, where one of our own AHP alum, Halle works! We got to hear from the airport manager, Brian Payne, tour the Cummins hanger and see their planes, and tour the control tower and the C119! Thank you Halle for setting the tour up and everyone else who shared their experiences and knowledge with us!
