It's been a bit quiet around here recently, because its been a busy fun summer! But now school is back in session and this sweet little lady is turning 1, Cinderella Style

This is the third time I have had the pleasure of working with these wonderful people and each time is more fun than the last! Today I was able to celebrate their commitment to one another surrounded by their family and friends as they got married.

Here's to many many years of happiness and love Rosa and Justin!

Tonight's engagement session was so creative and full of laughs and maybe a few bug bites. Lol

I cannot wait for their wedding next month

A first look is so special. Whether its a private moment between just the bride and groom prior to the ceremony or if its the moment a bride walks down the aisle to her soon to be husband. It is filled with a rush of emotions and is one of my favorite moments to capture.

And they are married

Going into this session, I wasn't feeling my best. I had just spent 35 minutes in the car with 4 kids, the chance of rain was stressing me out and I just wasn't in the best head space.

While I was waiting for my session to start I sent my husband an annoyed text complaining about something and the second I hit send, I wished I hadn't.

The moment it left my mouth (hands) I knew it wasn't helping anything. So without a pause I heard a voice telling me to pray about it. So I stopped setting up my camera and just prayed. Prayed over the family I was about to take photos of, prayed that God would use me to bring some love and light to this family. That He would use me in whatever way He needed and to allow the gifts He's given me to reflect on Him.

And to no surprise as soon as I finished praying, I felt better. I wasn't annoyed, or anxious about the weather. I simply let it go and was able to connect with and capture this beautiful family and tell their story.

I think it's hard sometimes to get out of our own head and our own worries. We live in a society where we need things perfect and fixed immediately. And that's never going to be a reality. But what we can do and stop, be still and pray.

Something so simple but so powerful that can change everything.

Tonights session was so special.
Tonight we celebrated a family being whole. We celebrated love.
Tonight we captured a chapter of this families story in the same location that it all started.

Tonight was good.
