Just want to take a minute to explain static testing. Static testing is when guides are placed on your custom rod and then the rod is placed under a load, or "a bend is put in the rod." This is to ensure that the line does not touch the blank under a load. If the line touches the blank then that makes that spot a weak link. By moving the guides around or adding more guides distributes the weight more evenly throughout the blank. Every single rod built at Southern Fire Custom Rods is static tested no matter what. As is with most custom rod builders. Have a great day and God bless!
