one last coach spotlight to round off your holiday weekend with the gold standard of ASU Rowing over the past four years, .mck ! hear it from him:

My name is Lewis, I am originally from Austin, Texas, but I now call Arizona home. I rowed 4 years at ASU, and now have the opportunity to coach the team that gave me so much. I'm really hoping to continue this upward trend and take home some hardware!

another new coach, but not a new face. we got the crafty veteran and former ASU coxswain coaching this season! here she is:

“Hi everyone! I am Anisa Syed, assistant coach for ASU Rowing this year! I have been rowing since middle school, and rowed all four years at ASU. I just graduated back in May 2022 with my BSE in Biomedical Engineering, and I am so excited to get to coach the team this year! After being with the team for all these years, I have experienced this team grow from 15 to 50+ athletes! I can’t wait to see us continue that growth this year and show who’s the best crew!”

a new face leading the squad this year! meet coach Luke Santavicca:

My name is Luke, and I was born and raised in Michigan, and attended the University of Michigan. I rowed for 4 years there, and just could not get enough of the sport. My goals are to help instill a winning culture for ASU Crew and help everyone walk away from regattas with some hardware!

meet the coaches! starting off with our head coach Imran Malik!

here he is in his own words:

Imran Malik has been the Head Coach for the Rowing Club at ASU since Fall 2016. He has been involved with the sport since 2012 and still competes to this day as a masters rower. Outside of rowing, Coach Imran is a business administrator for an engineering company and sings in a chorus. He plans to continue to help make history and maintain the upward success of this team. Alongside a group of dedicated athletes, Coach Imran anticipates crews making podium at both our major regattas.
