3D Printing, CNC Machining, Urethane Casting, Models, Prototypes, Production MODAL Design Works was started in 2000 by Dan Fesmire.
We offer services in support of designers, engineers, artists, students, and anyone else in need of models, prototypes, or cast urethane production services. We use leading edge 3D printing systems along with the latest in CAD/CAM and CNC machining technologies to produce some incredible parts, patterns, and prototypes. Add to that Dan's decades of experience in all aspects of product design & development and you have a very powerful, capable resource in MODAL Design Works.

Also, despite what Facebook says, MODAL Design Works is not an "Arts & Marketing" firm: we MAKE, we BUILD, we FABRICATE, and we PRODUCE! We help people, whether individuals or large design teams, bring their product Ideas into Reality!
Hard to believe that the Summer is almost over! Where did the time go? For us here at MODAL it's gone into helping clients move forward with their product development and production programs! We've been working hard all summer with a great variety of projects including Form Studies, Visual Models, Machined plastic parts and prototypes of all kinds, a literal TON of Cast Urethane Production work, and transitioning a few projects from cast/machined production to Injection Molding. We are so fortunate to have great clients and amazing people working together! We promise: there will be pictures in the near future to show some of these exciting projects!
Being busy has it's advantages....unfortunately we're sacrificing the "Social" side of life to make some pretty amazing things for our clients! From simple machined prototypes to complex 3D printed parts, from form studies to fully finished visual models, it's been a busy (and fun) couple of months since our last post.
Can't say much but current projects include work on medical devices, automotive racing & performance components, biomimicry research & development, and some really interesting stuff for a specific off-roading crowd! Hopefully we'll be allowed to share more info & pics as these things make their way into the "real world"!

WOW, how time has flown! Busy start to 2016 for MODAL, hope all of our friends & clients are off to a great start as well!
Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at MODAL! We are truly thankful for our amazing friends and clients and wish everyone the very best this Holiday Season!

Another busy week at MODAL: machining ABS & Delrin parts, running Tango Gray & Vero Black on the Objet, Black ASA on the Fortus FDM, clear resin in the SLA, and all sorts of materials being cast in the Production Shop! Always taking orders for more, let us know what we can make for you!
