Springtails, springtails, and more springtails! 🌱✨
We currently have 12 different springtail cultures growing out here at Rainbow Ridge Bioactive, and we’re excited about the variety we’ll eventually be able to offer. Some of these cultures are well established, while others are brand new and still need time before we’re ready to dip into them.
Springtails are one of the most important parts of a healthy bioactive ecosystem. They help break down waste, consume mold, and keep your terrarium thriving behind the scenes.
We’re also putting together a video showing how we build our springtail cultures, the materials we use, and why we use them, so keep an eye out if you’ve ever wanted to start your own culture at home!

A fresh box of thrifted finds just arrived, and I couldn’t wait to unwrap every piece. There are some seriously fun shapes in this haul, and I already have ideas for what they’ll become.
A few of these will be making their way into the shop after I work my terrarium magic on them. ✨

Meet our newest shop resident, Cassian! 🦎✨
This handsome Tiger Dalmatian Crested Gecko has officially settled in and already thinks he’s management. Today, he volunteered to help with our new pottery inventory… though his contributions mostly consisted of looking adorable and supervising from the sidelines. 😆
Cassian will be available for adoption soon, but for now he’s busy making sure every pot meets his very high gecko standards. 🪴💚
