I'm honored to have been nominated for Best Political Rising Star category the annual Best of the Capitol Awards. There are some heavy hitters here, people I've known and respected for years. Just to be included on this list triggers my imposter syndrome if I'm being honest.

That said, please take the time to vote for me (link in comments). If you were nominated, I'd vote for you!

I’m proud to support Melissa Harlan (Harlan for SRP) for the SRP Board, and I hope you’ll join me. Local elections are the backbone of our democracy, they impact our daily lives more than almost any other office. Because turnout is often lower in these races, outside groups like Turning Point are using national money to try and influence our local progress. We can't let national agendas dictate our community's future. Let's keep our local leadership focused on us.

Melissa Harlan is running for SRP Board to put ratepayers first not special interests. She’ll fight to keep energy rates affordable, invest in reliable and practical clean energy, and protect our water future. And she’ll make sure future data centers pay their fair share so families aren’t left footing the bill.

Safety message March 1 2026 03/01/2026

"International incidents, such as those taking place in Iran, can cause unease and worry about local safety.

While there have been no threats in Tempe, out of an abundance of caution, Tempe Police will provide high-visible patrols near places of worship, especially during the month of Ramadan."

Tempe OKs historic drink-spiking ordinance 02/10/2026

Very good coverage of Tempe's bold drink spiking prevention and education ordinance by The Tempe Tribune. The Tribute continues to deliver some of the best reporting in Tempe!

“No one spikes a drink just to have a good laugh,” Keating said. “It’s almost always a precursor to a much more serious crime. … To me, it is one of the most predatory things that you can do."

Tempe OKs historic drink-spiking ordinance Tempe last week became the first municipality in Arizona to pass a drink-spiking prevention and education ordinance with mandatory provisions for establishments that sell alcoholic beverages.

Tempe council passes first drink spiking ordinance in Arizona - Daily Independent 02/06/2026

Big News, Tempe! 🌵

Last night, City Council passed a first-in-Arizona ordinance to prevent drink spiking and keep our community safe. We are taking concrete steps to deter predators, protect residents and tourist, and destigmatize this issue.

Starting August 1st:

✅ Testing Kits: Bars and restaurants will keep an inventory of drink spiking test kits and make them available to the public.

✅ Education: New signage will inform patrons about safety measures. Educational partnerships with advocacy groups and educational institutions.

✅ Incentives: Tax breaks for businesses that provide drink covers in addition to the required kits.

This was an 8-month labor of love in my committee, and I’m so grateful to have worked alongside Councilmember Hodge and Vice Mayor Garlid to make it happen.

I’m proud that Tempe is leading the way on this emerging public safety issue. Thank you to everyone who supported this process! 🙏

Tempe considers law to discourage drink spiking - KTAR.com 01/22/2026

Tempe is poised to be the first city in Arizona to take direct action to deter drink spiking and everything that goes along with it.

The first read on the ordinance is tonight, with the second read and (hopefully) final adoption coming on February 5th.

Please take a minute to register your support for this common-sense approach to protecting patrons of Tempe's nightlife!

This and other examples as with the over/under on a recent administration press conference run time are so obvious and transparent they clearly think we are fools.

A resident wrote me to ask I spread the word about their missing cat, Onion. Onion has been missing since Christmas Eve and means the world to his family.

Please be on the lookout and contact the owner at (480) 869-2459 or [email protected] with any information. Hopefully Onion is found and reunited soon 🙏
