As of last Friday, 1/23, I’ve made the commitment to go sober for the entirety of 2026.

At the root of it, I’ve become so accustomed to being under the influence of alcohol while writing music that it got to the point where it felt like the only way I could do it. As you might imagine, that stemmed into other problems - with work, relationships, and just being lazy in general - not attending to my problems, just drowning them out.

Over this past year, I’ve realized what causes these urges and why I sometimes feel the need to feed them. I’m posting this here not to let the world know, but to keep my promise to myself - and to let others who may be in my situation know that they aren’t alone, that there is a way out no matter how deep you are in ❤️
