Please welcome Jacob McColm to the 2026 Sun Devil Percussion Clinic staff!

Jacob’s marching experience includes Sun Devil Marching Band (2018–2021), Breakthrough Percussion (2019–2021), and Dark Sky Percussion (2022–2023).

He has also taught at several Arizona high schools, including Desert Mountain, Gilbert, and Coronado High School, where he has served as the Percussion Caption Head for the past two years. In addition, Jacob has been on staff with Breakthrough Percussion for the past three years.

This semester, Jacob will be graduating from Arizona State University with a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering, with a focus on Neuroscience.

Please welcome Jacob Lugo to the 2026 Sun Devil Percussion Clinic staff!

Jacob is a percussionist and educator from Peoria, Arizona. His drum corps experience includes Impulse (2018), Genesis (2019), and the Blue Stars (2021 and 2022). For WGI, he has been involved with Flux Indoor Percussion since its inaugural season and marched from 2019 to 2023, leading the battery in his final season. He has served as a snare instructor with the group since 2024.

He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance-Percussion at Arizona State University and was a member of the Sun Devil Marching Band from 2018-2021.

Jacob is currently on the percussion staff at Apollo High School, teaches private lessons around the valley, and is an active performer for BOOM! Percussion Entertainment.

We’re excited to have him onboard!

Ethan’s performance experience includes Sun Devil Marching Band (2021–2025), The Academy (2022), Vision Percussion (2022–2023), and Flux (2024–2025). He currently teaches at Breakthrough and is grateful for the opportunity to give back to the community that has given him so much.

It is our honor to welcome Arizona teaching icon, Wardell King, to the Sun Devil Percussion Clinic staff!

Wardell is in his 29th year as an educator, arranger, consultant, and performer specializing in marching percussion. He currently serves as Executive Director and Battery Arranger for Vision Percussion, is a WGAZ Hall of Fame inductee, and is widely respected for his teaching, arranging, and commitment to helping students grow through music.

We’re excited to have him share his experience and passion with the next generation of performers!
