Did you miss us? Here’s what Sailing at ASU members have been up to this summer! From sailing and international travel to finding time to connect with other team members, we have done a lot and are gearing up to be back in Tempe soon!

Will found a new bird friend, explored South American volcanos, and paddle boarded Winslow, AZ.

Erin studied abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina, went on a sailing trip in Alaska and British Colombia, and is a sailing instructor 🇦🇷🫍🌲

Shaela made it on a boat in East Hampton and spotted a ship at South Street Seaport in Manhattan 🐚

Julia, Max, Diego, and Will met up in Utah 🏜️

Amber went on a dental brigade in Panama and explored Vietnam and Japan 🇵🇦 🇻🇳 🇯🇵

Miguel backpacked a volcano in Guatemala 🇬🇹 and visited Bermuda for a course on coral reef research methods 🇧🇲

If you can keep up with Alex, you might find her in the field for her internship, on top of the Swiss alps, with giraffes in South Africa, or exploring Europe 🦒🌱🇩🇪

Camden made it to the top of Mt Humphreys ⛰️

Congratulations, it’s graduation season! 🎓

We are so excited to honor our graduating seniors who have given so much to our team over the years. Sailing at ASU is proud to be a club that brings together students from different backgrounds, areas of study, and sailing experience to create a community that fosters a love for the water, the sport, and each other. Good luck to all of our graduates in your coming adventures, there is no doubt you will go far. We hope to have you back on the lake soon!

For our last event this season, we sent 4 boats to Anteater Open and JV at Alamitos Bay! We had a great weekend with some breezy conditions, several capsizes, and great racing. ASU represented with numerous top ten and top five finishes in both fleets and a great overall attitude, working through tough conditions, fleets, and new positions in the boat. At the end of April, we had the honor of attending the third annual Sports Club Banquet. We shared an amazing evening with our fellow club sports finding shared interests and celebrating our successes from the season! Thank you for putting on such a great event, we are grateful for all your hard work and already looking forward to next year. Forks up! 🔱

Three weeks ago, we made our way to Los Angeles for the PCCSC Open Fleet Race Championship. This was a fantastic weekend of competitive racing and shifty breezes. With short races and a packed start line, our Sun Devils had a fantastic showing this weekend coming in 13 overall out of 17 with multiple top ten finishes in both divisions. Thank you for hosting and congratulations to all sailors for a great season!

Almost a month ago, the Sailing at ASU women’s traveled all the way north to Bellingham, Washington to compete in the PCCSC Women’s Fleet Race Championship. This was a great weekend of exciting sailing, tough competition, and a rainy weekend on Bellingham Bay. There were many successes and challenges including fighting the wind and the waves, sailing in different wind conditions, and multiple top ten finishes in both divisions! Huge thank you to & for hosting and the Welker family. We had a great weekend of variable weather and Washington adventures!

One month ago we went to Oriental, NC to compete in the 10th annual Sailpack! Conditions were windy and wavy, with the course changing each day in response to higher wind. ASU placed 15 overall out of 19 and put down some great scores. Thank you to for being and introducing us to such great hosts. Congratulations to our sailors for a great weekend and repping Sailing at ASU on the opposite coast!

U Hawaii Invite Regatta!! 🌴⛵️⛰️🥥🌊🌈 We sent 4 sailors to compete at University of Hawaii’s invite regatta and they did amazing!! High wind conditions, lots of racing, and amazing hospitality by made for an incredible weekend!! Great job to our sailors! Thank you to the Grimsley family for housing our sailors (we love you!) and thank you again for for hosting and putting on a great regatta, we hope to be back next year! 😄🌈💚💙

Sending you postcards from South Designate!! 💌⛵️🌉 Two weekends ago we sent 4 sailors to the annual PCCSC South Designate Regatta hosted by St. Francis Yacht Club and our sailors did amazing! Congrats to our A division for finishing 10th and for all our sailors for racing extremely well in high wind and wavy conditions! 🌊⛵️ This regatta was a qualifier for conference championships and we are so proud of our sailors for qualifying, congrats you guys!! 🥳🥳🤩 Thank you to St. Francis Yacht Club for hosting, we had an amazing time and can’t wait to be back next year!! 🌉💙

Two weekends ago we hosted our 3rd annual Cactus Cup!! With 8 visiting schools and 26 boats on the line, it was so fun having everything one at Lake Pleasant for racing and hanging out! Thank you to all the team that came out and participated! ⛵️💗Huge thank you to our friends at for helping us put on the regatta- none of it would be possible without you guys! 🥰 Thank you to our sponsors for helping us feed all our sailors, charter boats, and make camping possible- you guys are amazing!!
