Old technology can still create new opportunities. 💻♻️
The Epoch Times recently visited Arizona StRUT to see how donated electronics are transformed into working computers, hands-on learning experiences, workforce training, and reliable internet access for communities across Arizona.
The article highlights an impact we are proud to share: 6,596 computers refurbished and distributed, more than $430,000 in equipment returned to the community, and 1.14 million pounds of electronic waste diverted from landfills in our latest reported period.
Every donated laptop, desktop, cable, and piece of equipment has the potential to serve a new purpose - whether it is refurbished, used for parts, or responsibly recycled.

Great start to another year at the annual Backpack Buddies back-to-school event!
Beyond the booth, we’re hosting several Techie Experiences — hands-on sessions where students crack open real hardware, learn how the pieces fit together, and see that tech isn’t a black box. And we’re sending more than 60 laptops home with students who need them.
Every device we hand out started as something headed for a landfill. Reuse, refurbish, recycle — and learn. That’s the whole loop, and days like this are where it pays off.

🚗 Help put AZ StRUT on Arizona roads!
We're raising funds to launch the Recycling & Refurbished Electronics specialty license plate. Arizona law requires a $32,000 implementation fee before ADOT can issue it — your donation helps us reach that goal without pulling from the programs that get refurbished technology into students' hands.
🎁 Every donation comes with AZ StRUT swag and entries to win one of 5 refurbished laptops or desktops, from Bronze ($25) to Corporate ($1,000+).

🌎 Earth Month was a big one for AZ StRUT!
This April, our community showed up in a major way. Here's a look at what we were up to:
♻️ Desert Garden Church of Christ collected 14,067 lbs of e-waste over two days with nearly 400 volunteers
⚙️ Our Chandler Mall Earth Day event brought in 5,629 lbs — plus a Refurbish-a-Thon that restored 67 Chromebooks
🗑️ A new e-waste drop-off bin is now live at Mesa Community College's library
💻 We provided 11 workstations for the new Walter Hive Digital Lab ribbon cutting in Scottsdale
🔧 We hosted our first-ever Hardware Techie Experience with St. Vincent de Paul
🤝 A huge thank you to NXP for volunteering AND awarding us a $3,000 grant
👋 Shoutout to our intern Jessica, who came in with zero tech experience and leaves with skills — and a plan to keep volunteering.
Old tech doesn't have to become trash. Donate yours, volunteer with us, or make a gift to keep the cycle going. 🌱
