It's human nature to look for proof you're on the right path, and the universe tends to answer in the most unexpected ways.
That idea became the foundation of "It's a Sign," our latest campaign for California Animal Welfare Association.
Representing more than 300 animal shelters statewide, CalAnimals needed a campaign that could do more than raise awareness. With California posting one of the highest euthanasia rates in the country, they needed more people to adopt.
Our research revealed something unexpected: while most people have a positive view of adoption, they often avoid shelters because they associate them with sadness. We also found that people are far more likely to adopt during major life transitions, like moving into a new home or getting married.
Those insights shaped our strategy. Instead of leading with guilt, we reframed adoption as the sign you've been waiting for.
The result is "It's a Sign," a 90-day integrated campaign running across Southern California through out-of-home, digital, television, and radio.

Watching people from around the world stop, explore, and experience Arizona in a completely new way has been incredibly rewarding.
No two days in agency life look the same. ✈️🏛️🇺🇸
In just 36 hours, Maddie flew to D.C., captured the Arizona booth our team designed at the Great American State Fair, and flew back home to Phoenix.
Seeing thousands of people line up to experience something our team spent months bringing to life was one of those full-circle moments that reminds you why we do what we do. 💚

Where “let’s take this offline” turns into real collaboration. 👏
We brought the team in from across the country for Agency Week and hit pause on the day-to-day to focus on what actually moves the work forward.
We got grounded in our WHY, pushed our thinking with an AI workshop, and had the kind of conversations you only get when everyone’s in the same room. Just as important, we created space for real conversations over great food, a ballgame, and in the moments in between.
