On April 15, 2019, the world watched as flames rose over Notre Dame.

A cathedral that had stood for 850 years was on fire.

But Notre Dame did not fall.

What followed was five years of extraordinary restoration involving thousands of craftsmen, artisans and believers from around the world working together to bring her back.

Then, on December 7, 2024, Notre Dame opened her doors once again.

There has never been a better time to visit Paris. To walk through those doors. To stand inside a cathedral that the world refused to let go of.

Ready to come, and see?

There is a bond that forms when you travel with your community.
You see their wonder. The way they go quiet in a cathedral. The way they tear up standing in a place they have only ever read about. The way they pray differently when they are standing on sacred ground.
And when you return home, the people you traveled with are not just your church family anymore. They are something more.

🤝✝️ Faith travel does not just change where you have been. It changes who you are to each other.

VENI SANCTE SPIRITUS

"You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you" (Acts 1:18).
After the resurrection and ascension on Jesus and before the coming of the Holy Spirit, the followers of Jesus hit in fear. They had been told about the coming of the Comforter and to pray for his arrival. After nine days of unceasing prayer, the Sprit did come and usher in the Day of Pentecost.

“When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues[a] as the Spirit enabled them. (Acts 2:1-4).

The disciples were transformed by the gift of the Spirit, "for God did not give us a spirit of timidity but a spirit of power" (2 Timothy 1:7). They no longer hid in fear but preached boldly before the authorities even considering it a joy to be beaten and suffer dishonor for the name of Jesus.

Upon being released by the authorities, the disciples invoked God, saying "stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus." God heard their prayer and "the place where they were meeting was shaken" (Acts 4:30-31).
The site of these miraculous events is the Upper Room, or Cenacle. It is also the site where Jesus offered the Last Supper, washed his disciple’s feet, appeared to his disciples after the resurrection and gathered them before the Ascension. In this same place, the disciples elected Matthias, to take the place of Judas, and the Holy Spirit descended upon them. It can still be visited, today, and is an important addition to any Holy Land pilgrimage itinerary.

In Rome, Pentecost is celebrated in many ways. One of the more memorable and meaningful is done at the Pantheon. As a commemoration of the descent of the Holy Spirit as tongues of flame on the disciples, a shower of roses is let loose, after the final blessing of the Mass for the Feast of Pentecost. Members of Rome’s fire-brigade toss thousands of rose petals down the oculus into the Pantheon. La pioggia delle rose (the rose petal shower) is a beautiful breath-taking sight to behold. If you are visiting Rome over Pentecost, be sure to consider adding worship at the Pantheon to your itinerary.

Could Ireland Be Your Next Journey?

Walk the same valleys where monks built Glendalough Monastery by hand. Run your fingers along ancient monastic ruins that have outlasted empires. Stand at the Cliffs of Moher and understand why this land has drawn spiritual seekers for thousands of years. And meet the people who are warm, unhurried, and genuine. They are as much a part of the experience as the landscape itself.

This is a place where faith and beauty don't compete. They complement each other.

Is it your time to go? 🙏

Today, January 27th, we join the world in solemn remembrance for International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

As we reflect on the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau 81 years ago, we pause to honor the memory of the six million Jews and millions of others murdered by the N**i regime. For those of us who have walked the streets of Jerusalem and stood overlooking the hills of Judea, this day carries a profound weight. It is a reminder that the land we love to visit is not just a destination—it is a testament to the resilience of a people who rose from the ashes.

Our Reflection Today:

Let's Honor the Victims by remembering the individuals—the fathers, mothers, and children—whose stories were cut short.

We give thanks for the courage of those who stood against tyranny to bring light into the camps.

We believe our faith is lived out through our shared humanity. Today, we are called to stand hand-in-hand with our Jewish brothers and sisters, recognizing that when we confront the rising tide of antisemitism, we are defending the dignity and peace of all people. We believe that by coming together as one global community, we ensure that light and compassion always prevail over hate.

Let us join together in a moment of silence and prayer today
