thank you for giving each of us space to process (often in manners that were difficult to digest). there is so much mystery and uncertainty in this world, but our community in the desert is a stable foundation of love and grace.

I started writing music under the “copper basin” moniker about ten years ago. At that point, I was really just interested in a few things:

- proving I could write songs on my own
- proving I could record every instrument myself
- proving that I was talented enough

Candidly, I was clearly stuck inside my own head and fighting a lot of self-doubt. I’m grateful for a decade of growth (and patience from the people around me). Also, music is absolutely more fun when being made in a band.

This time around, Copper Basin feels less like I’m trying to prove myself and more like my friends and I are just having fun. Once Jack, Jon, Graham and I started working on these songs, some threads started to *unravel* in the absolute best way. These songs represent so much life shared between the four of us and how beautiful that unraveling can be. I’m excited to invite people into it and to experience what we’ve been experiencing together.
