Arizona set another record this summer. On July 24, with Phoenix at 117 degrees, APS and SRP each passed 9,000 megawatts of demand for the first time, and APS peaked even higher on August 2. The grid held steady, and the highest demand still lands in the evening, when rooftop solar winds down and the AC is still running.
