Why I Can No Longer Recommend Universal Police Supply.
As professionals in the security and law-enforcement support industry, our reputation is built on trust, reliability, and service not just products. It is critically important that the vendors and partners we recommend uphold those same standards.
After careful consideration and repeated firsthand experience, I can no longer, in good faith, recommend Universal Police Supply to colleagues, agencies, or security professionals. This decision is not made lightly, but is rooted in consistent and ongoing concerns with their customer service and responsiveness.
What Ultimately Matters
In our line of work, equipment isn’t just gear it’s mission-critical support:
When agencies and professionals reach out for quotes and product guidance, they expect timely, accurate responses.
When orders are placed, they expect clarity on delivery timelines and fulfillment.
When issues arise, they should receive proactive communication and resolution.
Unfortunately, too often, interactions with Universal Police Supply have fallen short in those key areas:
Delayed responses to inquiries and support requests
Lack of clear communication on order status and fulfillment
Inconsistent follow-through on commitments
Reliable vendors make the complex from procurement to deployment feel seamless. When the opposite occurs, it erodes confidence and potentially impacts operational readiness.
What Comes Next
My goal in sharing this is not to disparage, but to inform others in our community so they can make well-informed decisions about who they partner with. There are many outstanding suppliers in our industry that prioritize service, accountability, and the long-term success of their customers.
To colleagues and connections: if you are seeking vendors who value service as much as quality, I’m always happy to share contacts and recommendations that align with those principles.
Final Thought
We all have high standards — for our teams, our partners, and ourselves. Upholding those standards publicly isn’t about criticism: it’s about professional integrity, transparent evaluation, and helping elevate the industry as a whole.
