Solestial, Inc.
We exist to deliver abundant ☀️ energy in space.
Our team successfully completed a rigorous 2-week production sprint in support of Solestial’s $1.2M SpaceWERX D2P2 award, demonstrating our ability to rapidly deliver 1 kW of power.
In just one week, the team produced 1.8 kW of our ultrathin, radiation-hardened solar cells. In the second week, we produced 10 customized 80W modules.
The sprint demonstrates how Solestial is addressing one of the space industry’s most persistent challenges: surging space solar demand and long manufacturing lead times. We are delivering what is needed: the ability to rapidly produce advanced space power that keeps missions on schedule and ready for deployment.

Solestial was founded to deliver abundant energy in space, and today we’re much closer to accomplishing our mission.
We are thrilled to announce that York Space Systems (NYSE: YSS), a leading national defense and commercial prime, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Solestial.
Upon completion of the transaction, Solestial will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of York and continue to serve a broad range of external commercial and government customers.
The acquisition secures a unique technology and critical space solar capability within York’s supply chain through U.S.-based manufacturing and reduces reliance on foreign-controlled materials and manufacturing. Partnering with York allows Solestial to more rapidly expand production to meet exceptional demand, deepen technical integration, and deliver resilient solar to a broader set of missions.
This strategic milestone reflects many years of hard work and dedication from the Solestial team. Thank you. Your efforts have set Solestial apart in a rapidly growing field of space solar companies. Solestial remains the only solar technology that self-heals radiation damage at operating temperatures as low as 65ºC. Our performance has been proven on-orbit and independently verified. We are delivering at volume. Our next chapter, in partnership with a leading prime, is a clear validation of both our technology and the team behind it.

Solestial: often imitated, never replicated.
Several companies offer silicon photovoltaics for space. Solestial stands apart:
☀️ We design and manufacture our own solar cells
☀️ Our cells self-heal radiation damage on orbit
☀️ Our low-temperature annealing performance is independently verified
In 2023, the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) validated our annealing results. Learn more: https://prn.to/4wbOUv2

This is what relentless iteration looks like.
Some changes are easily recognizable, and yet they only tell part of our story.
A trained Solestian looks at this picture and sees countless improvements made to our cells, modules, processes and tools.
This is how we achieve rapid progress in space solar, not through a single breakthrough, but by optimizing thousands of details. Precision in every step of manufacturing enables high quality solar built for the demands of space.
The opposite is also true; a single weak point can impact the entire system. This is why every contribution at Solestial matters, and why our strong product is the result of our strong team.
