PC, Paul Cardone, the Mayor of Tempe, passed away yesterday. We're all absolutely gutted. From his time in Satellite and Los Guys to Sara Robinson Band, Chocolate Fountain and Dry River Yacht Club, and 5000000000000 other bands, PC was everything. Tempe is a colder, less friendly place without him. We're all mourning our friend and I personally, am just dealing with a broken heart right now.
Thanks PC, for everything. You gave me so so much and I still want more.

Everyone! This is the longest show we've put up yet. Over 3 hours of Steve Larson's Campfire at Nita's Hideaway.
The original plan was to get these up for Christmas because there are some great Christmas songs on here, but, life man.
Anyway - without further ado, get ready for a really special little show. So turn your lights down low, pour yourself something strong, and sing along.
And for you guys here on the Tempe Live page, hand written tracklists by none other than Alan.

This week we will be releasing the Steve Larson Campfire show straight from the Alan vault. It's a few CDs so it'll take me a bit to get it together but this one is special.
I was supposed to get this done over the Holiday season, but this is who I am as a person. Let's have some fun this week guys!

Happy Monday! It's 2022. Everyday we stray further from the 90s. I don't know how great that is.
Today's post is very special. As we remember my dear friend Lawrence Zubia, I am proud to present to you the rare EP, Storyline - Sentences to Life.
This album is a who's who of Tempe music including even Nils Lofgren! I mean - it's a shame that this is the only recording of this cool band. I've been listening to it on repeat all morning and it's making the work day fly by. I hope it brings you much joy in this new year. We have some more stuff coming up.
The Alan vault is endless. We can keep this up for years. Let's go!
Storyline - Sentences to Life Alan coming through again. This time with a very special EP by Storyline. A project starring Lawrence Zubia, Billy Siegle, Gary Smith and then an insane list...
New shows/albums coming this weekend! Get hyped! Happy new year everyone!

Here's a show that wasn't recorded back in the olden times. A show from 2021!
Mikel Lander, one half of the Sugar Thieves is one of the best. This set from Unity Through Community will cement that. I loved listening to this at work today.
Sorry for the lack of uploads the last week. I got stuck in Facebook jail.
Here's to life!

Some changes happen without any effort on our part. They just happen. One night you cancel on an old friend to hang out at the bar, and the next thing you know it's been 8 years since you've seen them.
Facebook has a way of keeping us involved in peoples lives at an arms length. We know what our friends are doing, and so when we hang out again for the first time in years, there's not much to talk about.
"Oh Dude. I bought a house!"
"Yeah. I saw it on Facebook! Congrats again!"
Los Guys shows are special. But they happen with such frequencey and without pomp or circumstance that they feel ever-lasting. Like it's okay to miss a show because they'll be one next week. And the next week.
And before you know it, it's been a couple years since you last caught a show.
Regardless of what you're doing, you're living through the best days of your life, right now. You will look back at all of this as the special and wonderous time it truly is. You'll look at old photos and marvel at how thin and young you look. You'll shake your head at stupid you were for not realizing how good you had it.
I don't know the date of this show. In some ways, it doesn't matter. It's just another Los Guys show. And it feels like home in a way very little else does. I don't think we appreciate Mark Zubia or Los Guys enough. So today I tip my hat and my glass to Los Guys and recognize that they're better than we deserve. I really need to make an effort to see them soon.

So this show is almost 2 and a half hours long so - it took me awhile to upload it. That's why I'm a little late getting it up.
Stephen Ashbrook is an amazing songwriter with such a unique and cool voice. I have memories of when I first moved to Arizona and hanging out with my friend Maggie who was obsessed with Navigator (what a great album). We were broke and stupid and would drive out to Lake Saguaro listening to that album in a mid 90s Honda Accord with tires so bald they needed a toupee.
I also remember how much call and response there was at Ashbrook shows. I had no idea what was going on, but I knew I wanted to be a part of it.
It's really easy to lose yourself in your own thoughts at an Ashbrook show.
Enjoy todays show.
Stephen Ashbrook's Long Wong's Happy Hour - 6/29/2000 Stephen Ashbrook's happy hour sets are legendary. Here is one in is it's 2 hour plus entirety. Let's go!

Tempe Tuesday!
Today is a special day cuz we got one of my favorites (who am I kidding, they're all my favorites), SHURMAN! This is a ripping set from the Bash on Ash in 2002. I drive past the old Bash on Ash every day for work and I'm still sad it's not there.
I miss all our great clubs.
This show is our first (of many) shows brought to us by the great Mike Lovrien!
Shurman Live at Bash on Ash in Tempe, 2002 Shurman is just tearing it up in this (what appears to be) board recording. This is from the Mike Lovrien collection. Man, I love Shurman.
