Full Frontal Framing LLC
Our passion lies with Rock Art, but we'll frame anything you'd like. Our specialty is full archival framing, but I can do cheap and dirty. Let's talk.
Moving a flat file cabinet by yourself is difficult when it's empty. Moving one full of art is stressful.

Hey friends,
Do you believe in love at first sight? I'm not sure if I did or not, until now. I just got the new Tatami Silk corner samples in from Crescent Brands/Bainbridge and they are BEAUTIFUL. They even sparkle when the light hits them right. Fair warning, they are costly. But for the right piece, they are worth it! Check 'em out in the pics I took. I'm thinking of offering a discount on these, which means I will, so check back in about 24 hours. In the mean time, I hope you enjoy the pics!

Today I get to frame this stunning piece created by to commemorate the show at Deer Creek Amphitheater on June 29, 2019. A few months before this print was released, I had decided I wanted to collect all of the 'Slater Ladies'. I tried to get a poster buddy for this show, but I didn't have any luck. If memory serves me, one of the foil variants of this was the fastest rock art print to hit the $1000 mark ever. That made my quest MUCH More expensive than I had anticipated. When this was brought to me by my friend of 40 years and client, my suspicions were confirmed - she's more beautiful in person than on a screen. The detail is exquisite and intricate, but not overwhelming. The color combo is soothing, and the background pattern works nicely with her skin, her hair, the raven, and the night sky. That's my opinion of this masterpiece, at least. What do you think?
I'll add an after picture once sees the final product. I find the story of how my friend came to acquire this piece is quite entertaining, but that's for another time. I have work to do, this art isn't going to frame itself!

I thought I would be done with a frameup today. The is on extra thick, extra stubborn paper, so when I finished the 'fitting' - putting the glass and mat package in the frame - I realized that the topmat would not lay flat on the art when the frame was vertical. This just won't do. I had to tell my client and friend at that I need an extra day to flatten the art. I'd rather do that then present the customer with work that doesn't meet my standards or their expectations.
In the summer, this would be a no-brainet. Reverse roll the art, put it in a poster tube, put the tube in my garage, and let the desert summer heat do the work. Since we're in mid-November, that strategy won't do any good. So, instead of heat, I decided to use pressure. Having purchased, loaded, and unloaded a bunch of glass today, the fact that glass is extremely heavy is freshbonbon my mind. So, glass it is. A box of glass. Let's see how flat the art is tomorrow morning. Shawn, sorry about the delay!

Strong candidate for best matboard color name. Do you agree? We've been ignoring social media for far too long. But were going to remedy this. We're REALLY excited about how some recent projects have turned out and well show them to you soon!

When I use mounting strips to mount a print, I am actually mounting it to the back of the window mat (aka topmat). When more than one window mat is in play, the print is being mounted to the inner most window mat. While this makes centering the art much more difficult, it eliminates that gap between the window mat and the print, so it looks much better. In this picture, you see the print face down. Boardering the print are the mounting strips, which are fastened to the window mat, which is face down beneath the print and the mounting strips. Just to the right of this is the backmat, which is hinged to the window mat with a linen strip and acid free adhesive. Once I'm done mounting the print, the backmat will close over the back of the art. A piece of 3/16" thick ArtCsre archival foam board will be attached to the back of the backmat to make it more sturdy. That is the mat package, folks. Anybody want to guess what print this is?
