The built-ins came out. The floor under them did not agree.

We cut the old tile out, ran a clean line across the room, and squared it back to a corner so the new layout actually reads as one floor. Then started setting the tile the owner wanted.

What we actually did on one side of the house:

• Swapped the bad boards
• Re-secured the ones that were still good but loose

Fans are in. What you’re seeing is the first coat of mud.
Once this dries we sand, hit a second coat, texture to match, then paint. That’s the finish work that makes it look like it was always there.
We also ran the exhaust out and installed the wall cap on the exterior. That’s done too — no leftover holes, no sloppy termination.

Depending on when your house was built, a bathroom exhaust fan may not have been required by code. In new construction it is. Either way, if you don’t have one, it’s still worth adding.

Showers dump a lot of moisture into a small room. Without a fan that humidity sits on paint, drywall, grout, and trim. Over time that means peeling finishes, mold risk, and work you didn’t plan for.
