Pride Month is about celebrating differences and taking care of each other. It's also a great time to check in on the community and share resources about illicit drug and polysubstance use.

According to SAMHSA's 2023 NSDUH data, individuals who identified as LGBTQ+ reported higher past-month illicit drug use than heterosexuals. Why does this matter? Because the drug supply is changing and becoming unpredictable, with fentanyl showing up in counterfeit pills and other drugs without warning.

If you are part of an organization hosting Pride events this month, make overdose response tools easy to access in the event of an emergency. Learn more at ODRescue.com.

Libraries, parks, rec centers, and community halls are places that people come together every day. They are also places where emergencies can happen without warning.

ODRescue Alert™ is a strong fit for public spaces because it helps bystanders and response teams mobilize faster. When the kit is accessed, an audible alarm sounds, and notifications are sent to your designated responders with location details. By having tools visible and readily available, you can help reduce panic and freezing up in an opioid overdose emergency situation.

Take a practical step forward in creating a safer community space with ODRescue™. Get started: https://okt.to/ZEt715

When an opioid overdose happens, people often hesitate or freeze because they're not sure what an overdose looks like. These signs can show up fast:
👉 Unresponsive to noise or touch
💨 Slow, shallow, or stopped breathing
👂 Choking or gurgling sounds
👄 Blue or gray lips and nails
👁️ Pinpoint pupils

If you see these, call 911 immediately and use opioid reversal medication as directed. Stay with the person until help arrives. Access more resources at https://okt.to/3TBSVw

The headline is encouraging: for the 3rd year in a row, overdose deaths declined again in 2025. But the grim reality? About 70,000 lives were still lost to drug overdoses in the US, according to preliminary CDC data.

While the headline shows progress, communities need to remain vigilant. Within the first half of 2026, reports are already showing a shift in the drug supply. New, more potent synthetic opioids are being detected — sometimes mixed into other drugs and substances.

Summer travel can mean packed hotels, busy lobbies, lively ballrooms, frantic kitchens, and staff moving fast. It also means ensuring your team has the tools to respond to any emergency, including opioid overdoses.

If you run a hotel, resort, or restaurant, make opioid overdose response tools visible and easy to reach. Consider placing kits in high-traffic areas such as restrooms, near elevators, in break rooms, and at front desks. Train staff on the signs, assign roles, and practice what an emergency situation looks like at your business.

Hospitality is about taking care of people. Preparing for any emergency is part of that promise of care. Learn more at www.ODRescue.com.

Some of the strongest voices in overdose prevention are the ones who have lived close to loss.

Kennedy Clarke is a University of Oklahoma track and field athlete, a school record holder, and a top-10 NCAA finisher. She's also HarborPath's newest student-athlete ambassador, and her "why" runs deep. At the age of 16, she experienced the loss of a high school classmate to a fentanyl overdose — and that loss has never left her. That's why she's now using her platform to guide OU students to free naloxone with a simple message: access saves lives.

We're proud to support HarborPath's work and the student leaders driving it forward. ODRescue™ exists to help put overdose response tools within reach, wherever people gather.

Concert season. Festivals. Packed nights. Long lines. Loud rooms. If an overdose happens, it can happen fast and out of sight.

Venues that take patron safety seriously do two things well: they plan ahead, and they place tools where staff can reach them in minutes, not after the situation has escalated. Pair placement with a simple plan - who calls 911, who grabs the kit, who meets the responders.

Help prepare your team for the unexpected with ODRescue™. Learn more at www.ODRescue.com

Congress is sending a signal to employers — is your workplace prepared to respond to an opioid overdose?

A new bipartisan bill, the WORK to Save Lives Act, would direct OSHA to publish guidance for employers on stocking overdose reversal medication and training staff to use it. Why is this a big deal? According to the National Safety Council, 75% of employers report that opioid use impacts their workplace, but only 17% feel well-prepared to respond.

We broke down what the bill says, why it matters, and what you can do right now to protect your team and guests. Read the full article at https://okt.to/CAqRij
