Temecula Meditation
Meditation based out of Temecula, California. Neelakantha Meditation as taught in Blue Throat Yoga - an ancient & highly sophisticated practice.
Neelakantha Meditation is easy to learn and practice, and is governed by the principle of effortlessness. It is a profound practice that works to bring about transformation, healing, and benevolence. It does not involve concentration, controlling the mind, or other forms of effortful manipulation of awareness. It does not require that you have any particular beliefs, any previous study or specific
Are we the collection of all of our thoughts and actions? Or something deeper? The yoga/tantra traditions say that everything that has ever happened leaves an imprint (samskara) that colors our future thoughts and actions.
These samskaras can be positive, neutral, or negative. One of the primary goals of yoga is to free ourselves from the effects of the negative samskaras (from traumatic experiences, failures, limiting beliefs, etc) and to develop positive samskaras (bliss, freedom, and equanimity). We accomplish both of these goals by means of meditation, pranayama, yoga postures, kundalini kriyas, chanting of sacred mantras, study of sacred texts, etc.
What we find is that by freeing ourselves from negative karmic impressions from the past, we discover that our real Self is so much more vast than we ever imagined, so much freer, so much more blissful, so much more creative, so much more alive! The more we free ourselves from limiting beliefs and identities, the more we recognize our divine nature within.
Come join us for a free group meditation, made more potent by the powerful influence of sharing this experience with other yogins! Let's discover ourselves together in this beautiful yoga community at the TYC!
For the best possible experience, you can come to the all-level yoga class at 5:30pm, just before our group meditation. It is a great preparation for meditation! If you cannot make the class, you can come a few minutes before 7pm.

✨ Benefits of Neelakantha Meditation ✨
Release stress, anxiety, and old wounds 🌿
Experience profound deep rest (deeper than sleep) 😴
Think more clearly & creatively 💡
Feel expansive joy, peace, and unconditional love 💖
Live more fully and freely, right in the midst of daily life 🌸
One of the primary ways to access this expansive awareness is through deep mantra-based meditation. By gently repeating a non-conceptual sound within, we slip beyond the usual distractions of thought, sensation, and perception.
In this quiet space, we experience ourselves as more than body or mind—beyond time and space—immersed in happiness, peace, and love. 🌌
Neelakantha Meditation (as taught in Blue Throat Yoga) isn’t about retreating from the world. Instead, it gives us deep rest that heals old impressions, clears the mind, and helps us show up with more joy, clarity, and effectiveness in everyday life.

*How to Meditate*
You are probably hoping to see step 1, step 2, step 3. Well, let me ask you a question: If you wanted to learn to dance well, would you try learn from a website or book? My guess is, probably not. Because you want / need feedback from a very experienced dance teacher. You want / need to be given feedback that is specific for your particular needs / experience level / development.
This is why you don't want to learn how to meditate from a Google post or a book or an app. If you want to learn how to meditate, please join us - We have free group Meditations every Monday evening at 7pm. Yes free! Hosted at the Temecula Yoga Collective - 26780 Ynez Ct Suite , Temecula, CA 92591.
Meditations are led by David Kuttruff, regular meditator since 1974, authorized TM teacher since 1976, authorized teacher of Neelakantha Meditation, as taught in Blue Throat Yoga, since 2016.
Please email to [email protected] if you would like to join us!
If you have a dedicated meditation practice, you know that it is much more powerful in a group! If you are not yet a consistent meditation practitioner, come join us and experience what meditation has to offer! You will be surprised at how easy it can be and yet how powerful! Not all forms of meditation are the same. Many authentic traditions have discovered that by transcending through the subtle sound of a mantra, we can settle our mental activity naturally, gracefully, without force. We let go of our individual effort and tap into a more powerful inner dimension beyond space and time - one that opens us to amazing freedom, peace, unconditional love, and bliss.

Neelakantha Meditation (as taught in Blue Throat Yoga) is a very simple, yet powerful practice that allows our thoughts to settle and our mind-body to experience profoundly deep rest (over twice as deep as sleep). This allows us to release traumas, stress, anxiety, and karmic impressions that interfere with our natural state of bliss, clarity, creativity, freedom, and unconditional love. We have a group of students beginning a course on December 18/19 if you interested. Personal instruction takes an hour, there are three follow-up meetings, and then lifetime support. If you would like more details, please contact David by email ([email protected]). You can give yourself the gift of deep happiness and profound transformation in all areas of life, and this will be a gift to others 🙏❤

No doubt you are feeling that during this time, great shifts are taking place, much purification is occurring. We can most fully align with and benefit from this powerful phase transition if we have daily practices to allow us to locate, steep in, and become enriched by the expansive, blissful, freeing, and love-drenched qualities of the deepest part of our soul, our deepest Self.
One of the primary means of experiencing this expansive awareness is deep mantra (sound) based meditation. By easily repeating a non-conceptual sound within, we are able to get beyond the usual outward distractions of perception, sensation, and thought. We then experience the fact that we are beyond space, beyond time, concentrated happiness, peace, and unconditional love. This is indeed the Kingdom of Heaven spoken about in the great scriptures.
Sometimes we think of meditation as something practiced by monks and nuns in caves, monasteries, and convents. But there are forms of meditation, such as Neelakantha Meditation, that do not take us away from life, but allow us to enjoy enriched lives. By means of deep rest, we are able to heal the heavy wounds from the past, the impressions that keep us from enjoying the fullness of who we are. This deep rest allows us to think more clearly and creatively, to feel more fully and expansively with great joy and freedom, to act more effectively in ways that helps others and ourselves.
Normally Neelakantha Meditation is only taught person to person. However, during the current crisis, because we need to exercise social distancing, we are offering this practice via online technology (such as Zoom). Many of us have extra time at this time, and so this might well be an ideal time to take this important step in our journey of self-actualization.

If you are interested, it is best to find a teacher near you. After the current crisis is over, there will be opportunities to meet in person for group meditations and other practices that are best done in person. Here is a link where you can find a teacher in your area: https://www.bluethroatyoga.com/authorized-teachers-neelakantha-meditation/directory/
May you be well and safe at this time of transformation!

Neelakantha Meditation - Blue Throat Yoga Neelakantha Meditation is an elegant and profound meditation practice that draws you into your Deepest Self, giving you access to more bliss, peace, and ease in life. This simple twice-daily practice can be done anywhere you can safely close your eyes, making it possible to build it into the context...
“In order to establish order, disorder has to be shaken; and for shaking to remain under control, we who are at the basis, at the level of Parā, have to be Parā--that is, unreachable by the surface turmoil. In that integrated state, the fast moving chaos and change will pass away in a steady manner. So we have to be very steady. We have to be very careful not to get upset by little or big things. If we lose our basis, our dignity, the phase transition will take much longer. Don't give importance to things which may upset us.
"This is a very precious time for the world. Everything depends on how our awareness is; just don't let it be shaken. Our awareness is the basis of all these transformations. More than ever before, time demands we remain completely ourselves. It is a very tender, delicate time for us. We should not become angry or sad; we should just be like an ocean. The evolutionary power is waking up. We shake it, then leave it; then after some time shake it again. Each time a new level of purity, awakening is added.”
-- Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, 1992
Strengthening Our Immune System
In January, I mentioned a beautiful verse in the Bhagavad Gita that is now very relevant for today with the global concern about the COVID-19 Virus: "Here in this (yoga/meditation) no effort is lost, nor is any loss of progress found. Even a little of this discipline protects one from great fear " (BG 2:40).
Medical experts have found that fear and anxiety actually weaken the immune system. Here is a study from the NIH: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1361287/
Fortunately we can take an active role in overcoming fear/anxiety and other unhelpful emotional states by means of the physical practice of yoga and meditation!
Here is an article that discusses how meditation helps: https://www.forbes.com/…/new-clues-into-how-meditation-ca…/…
And here is an article that discusses how physical yoga helps: https://www.yogajournal.com/life…/support-your-immune-system
So, of course, we can also wash our hands with soap, bow (or hug without skin contact), stay home when sick. But let's not yield to panic, which experts agree brings more damage than the actual illness in most cases. Instead, let's overcome our fear and boost our immune system to prepare!
Come join us in a group meditation tomorrow (Monday) at 6pm and let's build our immunity and overcome our fear together. For an added treat, come to Danny's Yoga Class (a great preparation for meditation).

How is Mantra Refining Meditation Different?
We hear these days about the many ways in which we can experience meditation or mindfulness. We might have come to the conclusion that all forms of meditation and mindfulness have similar benefits.
Any practice or activity in which we get beyond the usual grip of distracting mental/emotional activity is beneficial. This is true of breath work, guided meditation, focused meditation, listening to pleasant music / sounds, being in nature, etc.
While all of these practices are beneficial to varying degrees (depending upon how much and in which ways we practice), we will find that we can go even more deeply within.
Many traditions have found that one of the most effective methods for going even deeper in meditation is that of settling thoughts by means of a suitably chosen sound or mantra. The mantra does not have a conventional meaning and has a vibratory structure that encourages our mental activity to subside with greater ease. We can add to this effectiveness by meditating with others. This strengthens the inward pull so that we can experience the beautiful qualities of the innermost Self - freedom, bliss, love, clarity, creativity.
Come join us tomorrow (Friday) at 8:15 pm at the TYC as we meditate together and help each other vibrationally in the process.
For an added treat, come to Kundalini Yoga (a great preparation for meditation) at 7pm, or if that does not work, you can just come at 8:15pm.
