With all the shuffling of our annual conferences and the peer reviewed articles, this issue was a challenge. However, I think all the subscribers will enjoy this issue. Here is a peek at the cover.

Crashes in the Courtroom: Engaging the jury and surviving motions to strike

A practicing attorney with experience in both criminal and civil law, Mr. Caplan brings a wealth of knowledge to a topic often requested by ARC-CSI attendees: how to do a better job in authoring a report and testifying before a jury. This presentation is designed for two purposes; 1) to help you avoid potential flaws and weaknesses in underlying reconstruction and biomechanical / biomedical reports; and 2) to help you engage a jury and be a better witness on the stand. A better report will almost certainly lead to a better deposition or trial testimony, and reduce the likelihood of your opinions or even YOU being excluded when it comes time to testify. Mr. Caplan will share insight and recommendations from the legal perspective for both criminal and civil applications in this important “can’t miss” presentation.

I would like to thank all those who attended the 2017 EDR Summit in Houston earlier this month! This was our largest Summit to date with over 300 in attendance. Over the course of three days there were 17 presentations and two evening break-out sessions. We would also like to thank the vendors that exhibited their products and services.

The EDR market is growing at a rapid pace, as is active safety systems and autonomous driving. As our vehicle become more data-driven, the EDR Summit will provide quality education and learning topics to keep you up-to-date.
