A quick update on the Chick-Ranch Wish Tree.

Our Wish Tree was created about six months ago to spread hope, encourage kindness, and raise awareness for our animal rescue efforts. While Chick-Ranch has welcomed guests, volunteers, and animal rescue supporters for years, the Wish Tree itself is a relatively new addition to the property.

We want to be very clear that we do not encourage anyone to stop unsafely on Mesa Road, block traffic, or put themselves in danger. If you would like to add a wish, we encourage you to schedule a visit to Chick-Ranch where you can create and decorate your wish, meet the animals, learn about our rescue mission, and we will happily hang your wish for you.

Recently, the County marked locations for multiple No Parking signs near the Wish Tree after concerns were raised regarding traffic activity. As property owners who are present daily, we have not observed vehicles regularly parking in the area because of the Wish Tree. In fact, we have not personally witnessed anyone stopping specifically to place a wish on the tree.

What we do regularly observe are Frontier utility trucks parked in the area for extended periods while servicing the neighborhood, drivers making U-turns after missing the poorly marked Camino Sierra turnoff, and motorists occasionally pulling over due to limited cell service.

It is disappointing that a project intended to bring positivity, community involvement, and awareness to animal rescue has become the focus of complaints and public resources. We believe our community is strongest when people work together to solve real problems and support one another.

The Wish Tree will remain a symbol of hope, kindness, and community. We invite everyone to experience it safely through a scheduled visit to Chick-Ranch and to continue supporting the rescue animals who inspire this project.

If only as much energy were spent building up our community as is spent finding reasons to complain about it, imagine how much better our little corner of the world could be.

What’s with the pink tree?

We’ve had a few neighbors ask about it.

The tree is no longer living, and instead of removing it, we wanted to give it new life. So we created the Chick-Ranch Wish Tree.

It’s a place to leave wishes for hope, healing, and kindness.

We’re still adding the finishing touches and will have supplies available soon, but for now you’re welcome to bring your own wish from home and hang it on the tree.

We also hope it brings more awareness to Chick-Ranch and the animal rescue work we do here.

If you pass by, stop and make a wish.
