We are thrilled to welcome Matt back as Lead Climbing Specialist this summer. His deep experience in the outdoors, passion for mentorship, and ability to inspire confidence and adventure in campers make him an incredible part of our community.

“I have been climbing, skiing, snowboarding and exploring all over the world and love passing on the passion, stoke, skills that make adventure fun. I grew up in Western New York and learned to climb in the Adirondacks and the Gunks. During my years at Telluride Academy I have had the privilege to mentor not only the campers but also the up and coming instructors and guides. Fun Fact: I have attended and worked at 3 Winter Olympics and been a part of supporting two bronze medalists and one silver medalist.” - Matt

We’re so excited to welcome Kat back as a boating specialist this summer. Her love for the outdoors and passion for being on the water make her a wonderful part of our river programs and summer community.

“My name is Kat, and I’m excited to be back at Telluride Academy as a boating specialist this summer. I’m originally from the Midwest, but found myself in Telluride about 2 years ago and have always found a reason to stay. I’ve always loved being on the water in any capacity, so I’m especially excited to see kids experience the magic of the river this summer!” - Kat

We’re thrilled to have Kat returning to the Academy team and can’t wait for campers to experience her enthusiasm, adventurous spirit, and love for the river all summer long. Join us for an adventure!

We’re excited to introduce a familiar face in a new role this season! After six summers as a Field Instructor, Sam is stepping into the Program Coordinator seat at Telluride Academy.

“Hey, I’m Sam, I’m a Kiwi (New Zealander) living in the big US of A. This year, I’ll be the Program Coordinator at Telluride Academy. After 6 summers as a Field Instructor, I’ll be stepping sideways to support all the awesome programs we run at Telluride Academy. My favorite thing to do is to get people into the outdoors, hiking, biking, floating, and all manner of other pursuits. I love the adventure of really getting out there and getting other people to feel how I feel when going into the wilderness (or even just their own backyard). My favorite things to do in the outdoors are to hike or bike for miles up to some of the best views you can get to high in the San Juans. I’m looking forward to this new role, and I’m excited to help all of our wonderful Instructors with our awesome programs this year.” - Sam
