Topaz and new American Pansy in the incubator!

Thanks to Thieving Otter Farms for these American Pansy eggs. Packed beautifully and not a single egg cracked! Can’t wait to see what these babies look like.

Lockdown on my first hatch of 2026! Started with some clean pharaoh and cardoon fawn (Lea’s mystery birds from last year). Happy hatching to everyone!

Tomorrow is butcher day. It will be the first time I do it myself. I feel that the most ethical thing you can do if you eat meat is to raise your own. We have a comfortable disconnect when we purchase from a grocery store.
It’s not something I’m going to enjoy doing but I feel I need to learn.
I’m always going to try to keep my birds as happy as I can so they hopefully only have one bad day.

Way too many eggs! Still test hatching and need to get NPIP before I can start working seriously with hatching eggs.
I can only eat so many!

I have eggs coming out of my ears at this point. Loving deviled quail eggs.
French toast with quail eggs tastes better to me.
I’m going to try making some egg salad soon.
