Donations Needed
The Friends of the Tehachapi Library like to keep the shelves of “The Downstairs Bookshop” full for community shoppers.
They need quality donations of fiction: trade (taller) paperbacks, mass market paperbacks, classics, and hardback fiction. General nonfiction is also needed, specifically: history, biography, autobiography, diet, self-help, nutrition, psychology, and animals.
Children’s books are very popular, and donations are appreciated
The Downstairs Bookshop is open when the library is open, Tuesday through Thursday from 10 am to 7 pm, Friday 10 am to 6 pm, and Saturday 10 to 4 pm.
The funds generated by the nonprofit Friends of the Library group stay in our community and support and enhance library and materials for all ages.

The fall leaves are turning. We hope you are turning the leaves of some of your book purchases from the recent Friends of the Tehachapi Library Book Sale during the Apple Festival.
Thanks to our regular volunteers as well as members of the community who showed up to help us turn the Courtyard of the Library into an outdoor sale.
It's gratifying to see books match up with readers. What did you buy at the sale? What are you reading?
Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 7th when the Friends put on a Family Craft Event from 10 to 4, and our Christmas Book Market from 11-4 as part of the Tehachapi Hoe Town Christmas. (P. S. We've been saving special books all year!)
