Understanding the Co**ha
The co**ha is the bowl-shaped structure of the outer ear that funnels sound toward the ear canal. It is also one of the most sensitive areas of the equine ear. Pressure in this region can be particularly uncomfortable. Ear protection should respect this anatomy.

Sound Sensitivity Isn’t a Training Issue
Horses are prey animals with highly sensitive hearing. Sudden or intense noise naturally triggers a stress response. This is a physiological reaction, not a training failure. Addressing the sensory input often improves behavior more effectively than repetition alone.

Why Some Earplugs Fall Out
Products that rely on expansion alone often struggle to stay in place. Ear movement, head shaking, and sweat can all cause shifting. When placement changes, sound protection becomes inconsistent. Stability should come from anatomical fit, not force.

Customer Appreciation Post 🐴💛
Shoutout to Emma Dietrich and her amazing horse, Jackson! These two are a powerhouse team, and we love being a small part of their journey. Emma uses our earplugs to help Jackson stay focused and calm in the warm-up arena before they run barrels—and it’s making a difference!
Fun fact: Jackson was Emma’s 16th birthday present, and she patterned him on barrels all by herself. Talk about dedication and partnership! 🙌
We’re so proud to support riders like Emma and horses like Jackson. Keep chasing those fast times and clean runs!

Why Placement Consistency Matters
Many traditional earplugs offer little feedback during insertion. Riders may place them too shallow or too deep without realizing it. This leads to inconsistent protection and increased irritation. Reliable seating improves both comfort and confidence.

The Equine Ear Is Designed to Move
Horses rely on ear movement for balance, awareness, and communication. Their ears can rotate nearly 180 degrees independently. Any ear protection that restricts this natural motion can increase stress. Good design works with the ear’s movement, not against it.
