A couple months ago, after being constantly confined inside my home for ~2 years, here in the Philippines, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, I was FINALLY AUTHORIZED and HAD AN OPPORTUNITY to go sightseeing. I was invited to go with 3 people to see the Saint Padre Pio (indoor-outdoor) Catholic church, a national shrine in Batangas and these are 24 of the photos I took. Here's batch 2 of St. Padre Pio Church ....

Last September (when I had to renew my Philippine visa stamp), I talked my driver into taking a "detour" so I could see SOMETHING in the Philippines besides the inside of my house and the Philippine immigration office. We went to St. Padre Pio indoor / outdoor church, in Metro Manila (~46km / ~25mi N.E. of Cavite city), famous enough to be a Philippine Shrine (for reasons I STILL can't quite fathom 🤔). I must admit that the church & grounds are LOVELY & PEACEFUL and I'm GLAD we went there because I NEEDED a pleasant memory of this place, DESPITE the pandemic and OTHER disappointments. It was a drizzly day and so much backlighting as the sun was rising made for quite a few crappy shots that were next to IMPOSSIBLE to enhance & salvage but, many of the 73 shots I took came out fine, particularly of statues and the indoor sanctuary.

This is a blue-and-gold macaw I got to handle in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in mid-May of last year (2019).

Passion flower I found growing wild in a large open field about 25km / 15mi from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia one year ago, in mid-May of last year (2019) - the flower was 2in / 5cm in diameter.
