Mountain Football ends tonight in Fresno as the Sunnyside Wildcats defeat the Warriors, 33-21. Tehachapi ends the season with a winning 8-3 record and a league championship. Sunnyside (7-4) advances to a contest with Tulare Western next week. (Sunnyside is actually 11-0 in games played on the field; they suffered 4 forfeits during the season for using an ineligible player.)

It's November 8th, 2024, and the mighty Warriors travel to Fresno tonight for a Central Section Division II first round playoff game. Tehachapi will play Sunnyside at 7:00 pm in Sunnyside Stadium. The Wildcats finished the regular season with a 6-4 overall record; 5-2 in the North Yosemite League. Mclane won the league championship with a perfect 7-0 record.

The Warriors are the Three-Peat champions of the Mountain League. Tehachapi finished the season with an 8-2 overall-record; 4-0 in league play. (Those two losses were against Bakersfield Christian and Golden West; both champions in their respective leagues.)

WARRIORS WIN! ……. The mighty Warriors are the Mountain League champions for 2024 winning back to back to back league championships. In a dramatic come from behind victory, Tehachapi outlasted South Bakersfield, 27-24 Friday night in Tehachapi. The league crown is the 33rd in school history going back to their first league title in 1948.

WARRIOR GAMEDAY ...... The mighty Warriors play host to the South High Spartans tonight, November 1, at 7:30 pm. The Warriors are 7-2 overall for the season and 3-0 in league play. The Spartans are 7-2 for the season and 2-1 in league play, thanks to North upsetting Soth last week 27-26 in overtime. Win or lose, the Warriors are assured a piece of the crown.

Through nine games the Warrior stat leaders include sophomore QB Colton Michael with 42 pass completions in 68 attempts and 656 passing yards; Adrian Pina with 387 rushing yards in 56 carries; Andrew Aguirre with 337 yards in 35 carries; Aguirre also has 12 pass receptions for 229 passing yards. On defense, Jacob Mesa has 51 tackles, and 14 assist in tackles for a team leading 70 tackles. .

The Warriors have played South Bakersfield three times at the varsity level in in 2023, 2022, and 2017 winning all three games.

Mountain Football (3-0 SYML; 7-2 overall) crushed Golden Valley 42-7 last Friday night in Tehachapi. The Warriors will now play South Bakersfield (7-2; 2-1 SYML) in a championship game in Tehachapi on Nov. 1. South was upset by North 27-26 assuring the Warriors of at least a co-championship. ";

WARRIOR GAMEDAY ...... The mighty Warriors play host to Golden Valley - Bakersfield tonight (Friday) at Coy Burnett Stadium. Varsity kickoff time is 7:30 pm; the junior varsity game begins at 5:00 pm.

The Warriors come into the contest with an overall 6-2 season record; 3-0 in SYML play. A win tonight sets up a big game with South Bakersfield, assuming both teams win tonight. South is 7-1 overall; and 3-0 in SYML play.

Tehachapi has defeated Golden Valley 8-2 in the overall series; including six straight wins. The 2024 version of the Bulldogs is 3-5 overall; and 1-2 in league play. Special note that way back on September 6, Golden Valley lost to South High in overtime 17-14.

The mighty Warriors defeated West High Friday night 49-7 before a large delighted homecoming crowd. Tehachapi, now 6-2 for the season and 3-0 in SYML, will play host to Golden Valley next week.
