Our favorite was when FIELD was awarded an $8 million check by Rudy Salas for the purchase and upgrade of our new Workforce training facility in Bakersfield.
This will enable us to provide higher quality job training and career opportunities for our students preparing them with skills needed to get a better paying job and offer their families a better future.

Meet one of our newest Corps members, Jessica Flores. She has been with the Cesar Chavez Environmental Corps for one whole month. She started in our E-waste department and was moved to work as an office assistant shortly after.

Jessica has been on her own since she was 14 and had many obstacles in her life journey. She was in and out of juvenile detention centers at a young age. She became a young single mother and was working 2 jobs before joining FIELD, but couldn't see herself making any progress.

"Working for FIELD makes me feel like I have a real grown-up job. I saw right away this was the place that could give me opportunities I have never had before. I wake up every day wanting to go to work and looking forward to learning new things".

Jessica took advantage of the opportunities FIELD has to offer and enrolled in our Business program. She plans to go to college to continue an education in Business Administration.

Jessica's goal is to own a business and give her daughter a better life.

The President of the Republic of Mexico Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador invited the family of our founder, Cesar Chavez, to attend the country's Independence Day celebration In Mexico City, at the Zócalo, or main square, on the night of the 15th to hear the President ring the same bell that Hidalgo did and recite the Grito de Dolores.
In attendance was Sylvia Chavez Delgado, Liz Chavez Villarino, Eloise Chavez Carrillo. Paul Chavez, and Anthony Chavez.

Maria de la Luz Sánchez Maldonado is one of our EPIC de Cesar Chavez high school students in Lamont CA.
Maria skipped school today to travel to Sacramento and stand with all the farm workers who made it to Sacramento from Delano, CA to ask to sign .
She is proudly representing EPIC and FIELD.
The dedication of our EPIC students is admirable.
Her teacher Mr. Armando Angel said, "I couldn't be prouder of my student! I want to share this with everyone!. Si Se Puede".
