Tea Lightning Softball

It’s been a packed month for this new 12u squad. We’ve already battled through three tournaments - Brandon, Sioux City, and Mitchell - and the growth we're seeing every week is incredible! 📈

The team chemistry is growing every game. This past weekend in Mitchell, the girls absolutely crushed it. They went 2-1 in pool play, picking up two massive wins against tough competition to lock down 5th place out of 12 teams! 💪 ​They are learning how to compete while having an absolute blast together.

​Next weekend the crew is playing at the Denny Redmond Tournament.

The 16Us were back at it this weekend! 🥎

​We traveled to Mitchell for the Lowell Rang Tournament - a fantastic well run local event to kick off our season. We had plenty of great plays, along with a few valuable learning moments, ultimately walking away with a 3rd-place finish.

​While it wasn’t quite the ending we wanted as we get back into the groove, this weekend showed we have a really fun summer ahead. Looking forward to what’s next! 💪🎉

Congrats to our very own Daphne Decker on a great state track meet. She qualified for three events - including a relay, pole vault and javelin. She was able to get a 9th place finish in the javelin.

She had some pretty lofty goals for this track season and it was fun to see her accomplish most of those. Those include seeing her break many of her own school records and winning the Tea Titan MVP for field events. Congrats Daphne!

Many Lightning players just wrapped up their regular seasons in HS softball.

It's been fun cheering them on this HS season. Now onto playoffs!

Congrats to Daphne Decker on being named a Titan Athlete of the Week in track. That quote by coach Miles sums her up perfectly.

Congrats to Kaylyn as the Titan Athlete of the week. She pitched a great game and had some clutch hits as well. It was the first HS game of the season vs SF Lincoln.

Softball season is here!

We played in a condensed tournament in Lincoln in Saturday due to predicted midwest weather issues. Outdoors and 60+ degrees! It was a lot of fun to knock some rust off and get some games in before the HS season for many of our players.

We had some players missing due to other activities, so thanks to Layci, Hayley, Hailey and Makenna for helping fill-in. Playing four games in a row certainly tested our conditioning, but the ladies gutted through to a 2nd place finish. Proud of their effort.

Also wanted to congratulate a few of our Lightning players for their 7th place finish at state basketball this weekend. Love seeing these ladies succeed in all their activities.

A huge thank you to Cheyanne at SD Steel for her work with our ladies the last couple of months.

The game is complex, so it's always great to get a different and fresh perspective. They learned a lot and had a lot of fun doing it.
