Behind every expungement, pardon, parole hearing, and license reinstatement is a lot of careful case management. We’re grateful for our Case Management partners at LegalServer for helping us serve our clients more efficiently and letting us focus on what matters most— removing barriers for people rebuilding their lives. We’re also grateful to the Indigo Hope Foundation for funding our transition to this new case management system!

Time Served is deeply grateful for the continued support of the South Carolina Bar Foundation!2026-2027 marks our third year of sustained funding support from the South Carolina Bar Foundation, and they have been integral to our expanded reentry and release legal services.

Since launching in 2023, Time Served has helped more than 1,200 South Carolinians navigate the legal barriers that stand between them and a second chance. This would not have be possible without the South Carolina Bar Foundation’s support.

The South Carolina Bar Foundation promotes justice by funding legal access and education across our state. Since 1971, the Foundation has awarded more than $65 million to law-related organizations serving South Carolinians.

By intentionally connecting grantees and integrating us into the broader legal community, the Foundation has driven more collaboration and innovation in our SC legal aid sector. If you come to one of our community clinics, you will probably see fellow grantees alongside us, and possibly even the Foundation’s Executive Director, Olivia Stafford Jones!

Through partnerships like this one, we can continue expanding access to justice and creating opportunities for system-impacted individuals and families across our state.

Thank you to the for investing in second chances and stronger communities across South Carolina.

☀️ Last week at Isle of Palms, Allison Elder from Time Served, our Executive Director Olivia Jones, Alissa Lietzow from Charleston Pro Bono Legal Services, and Mary Vosburgh from Charleston Legal Access, gathered to engage with the South Carolina Bar's Leadership Academy program. It was great to see so many of our grantees in one place! 💙

Did you know Greenville has a Homeless Court?

It’s a problem-solving court that helps people resolve outstanding cases and rebuild stability instead of cycling through the system. Time Served is there every month in two roles — as a resource for reentry legal services, and as attorneys representing people moving through the program.

It takes a lot of pieces coming together to make this work: the Greenville Municipal Court, Triune Mercy Center, volunteer attorneys, South Carolina Legal Services (SCLS), and many more. We’re proud to be one part of it. This is what community-rooted reentry looks like. 💚

Today, we’re highlighting one of the incredible partnerships helping make second chances possible.
Every two weeks, the Time Served team is on-site with Concordance, a Greenville-based reentry program helping individuals returning from incarceration secure and maintain meaningful employment.

By bringing free legal services directly into the community, we help remove barriers that stand between a criminal record and a second chance.

Whether it’s addressing legal obstacles to employment, housing, or stability, we’re meeting people where they are and helping them move forward.

Because second chances don’t happen alone. They happen when communities come together. 🤝

Thank you to for partnering with us to create brighter futures and stronger communities. Through this partnership, we have been able to provide services to system-impacted people with reentry needs throughout the Greenville-Spartanburg area.

April was Second Chance Month🎉

Here in South Carolina, 1 in 3 of our neighbors carries a criminal record. A record follows them into every job interview, every apartment application, every PTA sign-up sheet, every chance at building a stable life.

Second Chance Month is meant to highlight this reality. And this is why Time Served exists. And this April, we got to work.

Here are a few moments from a month spent advocating for second chances, hosting record-cleaning events, connecting with communities, and providing FREE legal aid services across South Carolina.

While April may have ended, this work does not stop.✨

Thank you to all who make this work possible and help make second chances a reality for individuals beyond April🧡
