I stopped at NPD and grabbed some more goodies. The right outer wheelhouse was Swiss cheese so I replaced it. Tail panel is patched up on to dry fitting the quarter skin

Not bad for an evening's worth of trimming.

Now its torn down to bare bones. Tomorrow ill give it a good douching with the pressure washer and bleach. Then start on replacing both quarter panels and the filler panel between the trunk and back deck.

Lol. Here's where it gets expensive....
Since National Parts Depot is only 20 minutes from me, I can save on truck freight for the big sheet metal parts. My original plans were to clean it up and "flip" it. Ive never cared for the 71-72's.
But.... this ugly, rat p**s soaked chevy started growing on me.
Now im keeping it for myself.
I started by gutting the interior. Then bought the first laundry list of parts. It's been so long since I've built anything with its own catalog, I kinda went nuts!

After I bought the car, I stashed it away until I had time to mess with it. These pics are once I brought it home to start the resto on it. Documenting the "before" condition.

My latest project is a '71" Malibu 350" Chevelle I picked up last fall. A buddy told me about it and got me in contact with the owner who sent me a few pics of it. Of course he just so happened to clip the sh*tty parts out of the pictures. The price was right and it had good bones so I drug it home.
The car had a fresh motor built and a TCI turbo 350 installed but he was too anxious, didnt break it in properly so it began to smoke on him. He threw a new set of World Products iron heads on it hoping to solve the issue to no avail.
So, he pushed it in the garage and forgot all about it since 1997! In the nearly 30 years it sat, somebody broke in his garage and stole the stereo out of it but what worse, the damage the theif caused to the garage let the rain and snow in the garage for who knows how long.
Anyway, once I cleaned all the garbage and rat droppings out of the engine bay, it still reaks of rat p**s.
The plans are a rowdy small block, muncie 4 speed and a 70's Street Machine vibe daily driver.

Follow along as I do a frame off rotisserie restoration on it just for fun.
