🔧 Decking a Ford 351 Windsor Block

Here’s a look at a Ford 351C block getting decked here at Fastime Performance.

Decking the block ensures the cylinder head surface is perfectly flat and square to the crankshaft centerline. This step is critical for:

✔️ Proper head gasket sealing
✔️ Correct compression ratio
✔️ Consistent quench distance
✔️ Long-term engine reliability

Over time, heat cycles and previous machining can leave the deck surface warped or uneven. By precision machining the deck, we restore the block to true and square, giving your engine the best possible foundation for a rebuild.
