DMW is need of automotive and civil construction tradesmen for the next 3 months in Southeastern Michigan, Chicago, Illinois, Cleveland, Ohio and St. Louis, Missouri. Please contact your regional local business agent if you are interested in becoming part of the Dearborn Installation team!

DMW has been awarded a project at Michigan Assembly Plant starting at the beginning of May for 3 weeks. We are in need of 150 tradesman to help with manpower. Please contact Paul Jewell at the Millwright Local 1102 if interested in this opportunity.

Fischer Automotive Systems
DCC was recently awarded the Structural Steel er****on contract for the building addition at Fischer Automotive Systems. Fischer Automotive is located in Auburn Hills, Michigan and provides interior components including brackets, holders, vents, trim pieces, and storage bins to the major automotive manufacturers. Fischer is a major, international firm with facilities around the globe.

The addition includes approximately 56,000 square feet of additional floor space to their existing facility. The space is to be used to better serve their North American customers.

DCC is partnered and under contract with one of our major steel fabricators – Concentric Steel – on the project

DMW / DCC – Superintendent Leadership Training - 2017

To finish out 2017, Todd Begerowski, Director of Installation, hosted the annual DMW/DCC Superintendent Leadership Training.

With nearly 40 field staff in attendance, the three day event was held in Downtown Detroit. The training included such important topics as:

Safety
Improvement of Decision Making
Mentorship
Additionally, it was an excellent time to re-engage with one another and build comradery.

The intent of the seminar was to improve Leadership skills in order to better serve customers, gain understanding on how better to handle unique conditions in the field, build and maintain trust and improve teamwork between the field operations and the office staff. Through a series of teamwork and leadership exercises, the group experienced and learned of the importance of 1 second decisions. The decisions that move an organization forward rather than the decision or attitude that detract from an organization’s objectives.

Another key topic relating to the strengthening of our organization was the Question and Answer session between our office and field staff and our Executive Management.

The three day event was an outstanding success.

Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights turned the dirt on a 67,000 square-foot training center in Wayland.

Union breaks ground on skilled trade center in Wayland For the worker-starved building trades industry, the training center just east of US-131 couldn’t have come at a better time.

City Club Apartments – Detroit, Michigan

Dearborn Contracting Company has been awarded a contract with Wolverine Building Group for the City Club Apartments in Detroit, Michigan. This high profile project will occupy one of the last vacant parcels in the City of Detroit. Located in Grand Circus Park, at the former site of the Statler Hilton Hotel, City Club Apartments will combine luxury living, with ‘green’ living, with a new urban lifestyle housing option that is sure to enhance Detroit’s resurgence.

DCC will be constructing/self-performing foundations, concrete flatwork, and structural steel for the six story apartment and retail development.

Work is slated to commence in December of this year and last for approximately six (6) months.

Unique features of the development include a rooftop Sky Park, rooftop swimming pool, a sun deck, fire pit, kitchen, and bar.
